It tore Iowa's heart out when he committed to ISU. Since his record is now officially clean, I wonder if Iowa will give consideration to taking him in.

I totally expect iowa to go for him and get him. And somehow he will end up being a all conference performer for them.

a money grab that will be laughed out of court.

Unluckily that is usually settled, Nikki Moody got either 50 or 60000 to go away if I remember right and she didn't deserve a dime of it. However she was all done with school and had failed to make the WNBA. If Foster wants to play somewhere else he'll need to tread lightly or no one will want to take a chance on him. IMO.

$60k settlement with no admission of guilt,
she got to keep about $35k. I’m glad the university fought her initially. Parish is probably not doing his job if he doesn’t make an effort to get some cash, and ISU’s attorneys aren’t doing their job if they don’t remind Foster that 1) they don’t just settle without going to trial, and 2) they have receipts.

What are the 'receipts' that have been mentioned in several posts?

Reading between the lines I would guess the issue they pursue is with ISU legal counsel and how they handled the case or the advice they gave him. He seemed pretty agreeable as to why he was kicked off the team. So I would be surprised if it was anything involving the bball program. But who knows

I have absolutely no inside information. But he already admitted attitude and tardiness problems, about which there were plenty of rumblings. Maybe there’s nothing else, but I’m confident that ISU has its ducks in a row.

One thing I found kind of funny was blaming his foot injury on a lot of his issues. Anyone remember the first “eye of the storm” video where he is running around and does a back flip into a pool.

Guy has a lingering foot problem, should probably just be on bed rest the rest of his life, definitely not allowed to have any fun once in awhile with his teammates.

Instead of categorically denying the charges, XF stated, “It was a misunderstanding”. Just a response that is peculiar I think.

To really get off topic… I can’t (quickly) find 1972 tuition numbers online. Current in -state tuition-only looks like $9,316. Per one source, in 1987 it was $1,390. Adjusted for inflation, that would be, in current dollars…

$3,440.

Draw your own conclusions.

I paid $3,750 in 1990-91 (total both semesters). Room & board in MWL was appx the same amount on top of that.

If all federal tuition aid programs were cancelled tomorrow (esp student loans), the cost of college would drop 30% in a couple years.

Made it sound in the interview that he still was not 100% yet. Big risk for anyone. Wonder what the tutoring issue was about that was spoke of?

what I meant was, he seemed to get around fine in those clips. It seemed he was implying that he couldn’t make it to class or practice because of his foot. My sister had hip surgery while she was at ISU and was in a wheel chair for a few months and then crutches but still made it to class. Just saying.

I have no issue with him having fun with his teammates, that would be silly.

I went to a talk by an Iowa State alum when I was a freshman in 2005 about life and careers.

Evidently he showed up on campus intending to be a business major, but he suffered some sort of injury that greatly limited his mobility and he lived on the west side of campus. So he had two choices...

Engineering
something in Pearson Hall

So he started taking languages classes, especially Spanish, in Pearson, and eventually ended up graduating with a major in that and has spent his life as a translator for multinational businesses.

Funny how little random, accidental things like that can chart the course of a career and life.

Not if he's telling the truth. At least not initially, because he mentioned going somewhere where its warm. And somewhere where his parents could come to warmth to watch him play. Would think after his situation, he would stick to truthful things.

It’s really unfortunate how many people you hear about that don’t deserve a dime in settlements, but end up getting paid.

Beyond the warmth, I have to think his best option is getting out of Iowa. Kid has been a topic of discussion in this state since he was a freshman in high school. Go somewhere no one knows who you are and try and build a new path for yourself.
