I think you should all do yourselves a favor and ignore Lunardi. Way more credible people out there.

Recency bias is obviously a huge thing (see Rutgers). If we had played like **** in the non-con but rattled off 10 in a row in conference this wouldn't be a debate.

Is it easy to see conference record broken out?
This is what the ESPN/media talking heads will latch on to. They’ll find some low mid major with a great conference record and show how that team got left out but ISU with a 6-12 record got in.
It’s going to be super interesting to see them dance around the Quad 1 wins though.

The 19-win OU team went 7-11 in B12 play in 2018-2019. tOSU had only 8 wins in B10 play that year.

Lunardi has not updated his bracket in over 48 hours. That Bracketology was before ISU's win at TCU and UNC's loss last night. ISU should be moving up on his new one, whenever it comes out.
Doing daily bracket updates is pretty dumb and Lunardi is not very good at it.
Is he bad at doing it daily or are his daily updates bad?

The 19-win OU team went 7-11 in B12 play in 2018-2019. tOSU had only 8 wins in B10 play that year.
In 2019, of the 35 At-Large teams chosen, 4 had 19 wins and 4 had 20 wins. We just have to be the best 19 win team (which with 8 Q1 wins puts us right there) or at 20 wins, I think they are pretty secure.
The 19 win teams were #9, #9, #10 and #11 seeds.
The 20 win teams were #7, #8, #8 and #10 seeds.
Assuming we go 1-1 in KC (let's get at least 1 in Hilton South!)

1+1 more wins = 19-14 (5-13) REALLY on the bubble, play in game at best
2+1 more wins = 20-13 (6-12) puts us at #8 to #10 seed.
3 +1 more wins = 21-12 (7-11) puts us at #7 to #9 seed.
4 +1 more wins = 22-11 (8-10) puts us at #5 to #7 seed (bumped because at least 1 would be another Q1 W)
5 +1 more wins = 23-10 (9-9) puts us at at #4 to #6 seed.

Getting 1 win in KC is going to be tricky this season. Only one game Wednesday night because OSU is not eligible for the tournament. So just the 8 vs 9 game.

There's a good possibility that the only way Iowa St plays in that 8 vs 9 is if they only get 2 more wins, and even then other teams' outcomes would effect their seed.

My worst case scenario is Iowa St only gets 2 more wins, and because of tie breakers, still ends up the 7 seed, and would likely be playing Tech or Baylor first round.

We are down on Lunardi as he has us lower this year than the other bracket guys. But I seem to remember him having us higher than others back when we were good.

Lunardi now has us as a 10 seed but Iowa remains unchanged after last night...stays a 7 seed.

Palm has us an 8 seed. Iowa an 11 seed. And this was before their Michigan loss.

Decourcy has Iowa State and Iowa both 9 seeds.

In-season "Bracket Reveal" is 11:30 (Central) tomorrow (Sat 2/19), CBS.

Reveals actual committee choices, top 16 teams only, if field was announced currently. (So, obviously, ISU won't be part of it). We'll see how close the prominent bracketeers are on their inclusion & placement.

I would think if you cannot predict 14 of the 16 (irrespective of seeding), you pretty much suck as a bracketologist. We shall see.

In-season Bracket Reveal at 11:30CT (I mentioned in thread yesterday).

My wild stab at the projection. (Not necessarily how I'd do it if I was "The Entire Committee.") I could be waaay off with my guess. We'll see.
