I completely get that rival fans tend to carry a bias...but this would be Exhibit A for admitting someone into the looney bin... "bad conference" lol

Talk about an exchange between two idiots….

I can get the bagging on ISU as they’ve earned some of it, but bad conference??? Just because you want it to be bad doesn’t make it so.

They are trash ass fans who should all suffer in many many ways. Will never feel bad for them. Should have never let their low class garbage into the Big XII.

The only team in the league I wish to never make the tourney. Not because any rivalry just because their tack unsportsmanlike fanbase.
I don’t have any issues with their fans, but I have zero respect for how huggy coaches the game. It is a trash form of bb if you can even call it that. Just push and shove as much as possible and dare the refs to call all the fouls. It’s just ugly and not what the game is supposed to be.

Texas WBB "plays the game" the same way.....

The Big 12 has been the #1 basketball conference statistically for a looooooooooooooong time now.

Ever since worst program in history Nebraska left and pretty bad program CU left.

It’s as dumb as saying the SEC sucks at football at this point.

'The Steal'.

If that's the play that propelled ISU into the 2022 tourney...

B1G fans still see conferences like the B12 as 'little conferences'.

It's weird.

Inject that last 30 seconds into my veins. I could literally watch that all day today and it wouldn't get old. What an all-timer last night, on a night we needed it so badly with all the other crap going on in the world. This team has been such a joy and a breath of fresh air when we need it most.

Agree!!!! Gabe got the flow going to give the hope...but yeah, when we were down 1 and essentially thinking it'd have to be the old "foul, free throw, hope, repeat" sequence (and WVU wasn't missing FTs) felt like a "well, almost" type of ending.

Not only did he poke it away...but LOVED he just went up for a shot vs kicking out, etc. Heck, I even thought, what if he stole it and then missed that....we'd still applaud the effort and be in the "what if mode" but him and Gabe essentially willed us to victory.

I caught some of Huggins' web conference postgame comments where we was even more direct in his criticism of his players...didn't call out any players by name, but very clearly got the point across that McNeil was getting picked on because other teams watch film and know (like WVU does) that he doesn't guard, or care about guarding. When asked if they tried to avoid the matchup of him on Brockington, Huggins said they always try to avoid that matchup every game. Some of the most direct criticism of a player I've heard in a forum like that. Also called out the player (might have been Curry, based on looking at the replay) on the inbounds play that IB stole the ball on, for not doing what he was told and streaking deep after setting a screen. I've thought in the past that Huggins will make comments after a loss that imply "it's not my fault, the players don't do what I tell them to." I agree that it's not a good look...have always been amazed that he gets the players that he does to go play for him.
I saw that same interview. I thought it was almost shocking how blunt and matter-of-fact he was. I can't decide if it's refreshing to hear a coach be honest and genuine, or disgusting to criticize players in the press. Maybe some of each. We were all sick of 'we just need to play defense harder' type responses just a week and a half ago. At this point anyone playing for him knows what they're signing up for. I'm not saying I think it's the right way to go about it, but I'm also not going to be mock-outraged for his players. We've all seen what a lack of accountability leads to, and it's clear Huggy would rather run off players that don't buy in than compromise his team. Still kinda feels wrong to air that laundry in public.

He missed that free throw and sold out.

Couple of thoughts. The first two obvious.

*That is one of the single best offensive performance we’ve seen in the past decade. Ejim game was otherworldly, but it was against a team 0-10 in conference and an easy win.
* Gabe had one of his best games of the season, but will be understandably overshadowed by IB. Not highest scoring but 17 points on 10 shots is super efficient. Clutch 3s late have us a chance and clutch free throws iced it.
* Do not understand why we don’t foul on that last possession up 3. I know that is one of the gray basketball debates, but feel like they could have got a decent look isolated on Jaz like that and they were shooting well tonight. Wonder if that’s TJs philosophy. Had similar question a few games ago when I questioned why Jaz didn’t miss last free throw on purpose at the end.
* understated play of the game might be forcing that trap and timeout right before the IB steal. They burned their last time out which proved to be really meaningful. Knowing you have no timeouts puts a lot of pressure on the inbounder which we saw the result of (fortunate for us).
The difference between last night and Ejim's milestone is TCU essentially quick.

That was the best performance I have seen by a Cyclone in Hilton since Fizer went off his Junior year against Texas. I don't have words to describe it. Just sensational.

Also, really huge game from Gabe. When he really sets his feet and is in rhythm his shot looks really good.

Can you believe it? This rag-tag team is going to the Big Dance!
Not only that, they could do some damage on the dance floor...
Maybe Steve Prohm'll be working coat-check.

I really hope a lightbulb went off in his head and that game sparks a load of confidence in him. That wasn't a fluke game like Texas where everything he threw up went in and there was little pressure. If that was the game that helps him mentally, it'd be impeccable timing for this team.
