No thanks to another Purdue matchup.

Yeah.. if we end up with that 7 and win the first round it very well could be Purdue/Kentucky.

If Baylor ends up as a 2 and TTech keeps winning, they could work their way to a 2.

Not idea second round matchup.

I know people keep saying to stop bringing up Lunardi but his latest bracket had Iowa as a 6 seed. In what world??

I am beginning to think he does some of these insane picks to get clicks and comments. We should watch his last couple iterations of his bracket before he updates it for the last time before the real bracket is revealed on CBS. I would be willing to bet we see confusing shifts at the last minute in his picks.

Yea, I did not think that through as well as you. If Big 12 gets two #2 seeds, leaves no one else for us to play except Purdue/Kentucky as a #7. Either would suck.

Prob best if Baylor or Tech (or both) fails to achieve a #2 seed. Opens up better matchups.

Kentucky may still overtake KU as final #1 dependent on remaining games.

2 seeds could be a variety but I do think Kentucky/Purdue are pretty solid 2 seeds right now. One could maybe over take Auburn.. SEC champ could get the 1 seed. who knows.

Other 2 seeds in play could be Villanova, Illinois (although they lost last night) Tennessee maybe, Wisconsin.

I do NOT want to see Kentucky if we are a 7 seed. Their backcourt is Final Four good. 6 of their top 7 are upper classmen.

Purdue lacks a true PG but is a horrible match-up

Duke is the weakest 2. Put Gabe on Wendall Moore and they lack an elite PG. Not as battle tested in a weak ACC. 5 of their top 6 players are underclassmen

Now do the probable #3 seeds.

Just to see how valuable playing up to the #6 line might be.

I'm not as scared about Purdue as others I guess. Their offense is literally the best in the country, but their defense is NOT good...it's 119th. If a similar gritty defensive team like Rutgers can beat them...Iowa State can beat them too.

We won't play Tech.. THANK THE LORD!!

Probably want to avoid Nova. 5 of their top 7 are seniors and most of their players have a championship ring already

Tenn looks VERY beatable. Need to shut down their star Vescovi and we match-up well. 2 of their top 4 are freshman.

I think we would fair far better against Illinois versus Purdue. While Cockburn would likely make a fool out of Conditt and Jones. Pulling him out to the 3 point area with Jaz at the 5 would HEAVILY favor ISU on offense. Illinois seems to be a live and die by the 3 team. Illinois also has short/small guards.

A potential HUGE plus to playing Illinois is that likely means we are a 6 seed in Milwaukee. Would be a 60-65/30-35 split between Illinois and Iowa State IMO

Adding in Wisconsin to a preferred team on the 3 line as a 6 seed since Delphi's update today has them as a 3 seed. I absolutely would LOVE to play Wisconsin on a 3/6 game with a sweet 16 on the line

That might be the only scenario in which ISU gets placed in Milwaukee as a 6, considering any of the teams that might be on the 3 line. (I don't think Purdue will drop below a 2 ... that's the only other that wouldn't have a geographic disadvantage as a higher seed).

If by some chance we climbed to a 5, that's a different story. (I do not expect this to happen, although it can't be ruled out. Yet).

I saw an article on WRNL, where the author states certain seeds are playing in certain locations, for example, Indianapolis will be hosting two 2/15s and two 7/10s. Are these seeds/locations already determined? I thought it was dependent on the top 16 seeds but for the life of me I cannot find that information anywhere.

I assume that's because Purdue and Kentucky are closest

This is the article @nwiacyclonefant is referencing (excerpt and link below)… now I understand the confusion.

It does suggest Indy “will” host two 7/10’s (of course, that isn’t established). It’s misleading, or at least unclear, as written.

The assumption of potential sites is based on the bracket projections sourced in the article. Each has ISU as a 7 in the East … so the 1 seeds would be placed in Portland (Gonzaga), San Diego (Arizona), Auburn (Chicago) and Kansas (Fort Worth). Then, Indianapolis would have 2 seeds Kentucky and Purdue. (Ergo, a 7v10 at each site).

Better choice of wording would be "... in this scenario, Indianapolis WOULD/COULD host two 7/10s..."

EXCERPT:

Location Prediction:
If Iowa State is indeed a 7 seed, most predictions have them playing in the East Region, with Philadelphia being the regional host. This seed level has potential locations of Fort Worth, and Greenville. Interestingly, Indianapolis will host TWO 7/10 matchups, making this the most likely landing spot for Iowa State, which is a good thing for Cyclone fans.

I know we don't like Palm, but if we could get that draw right now SIGN ME THE **** UP.

7 seed against Davidson with 2 seed but beatable Wisconsin waiting...IN MILWAUKEE.

But his writeup is as stupid as can be. "ISU's in the tourney but need to win 2 more to be secure . . ." Give me a break.

Yeah, we are only at 98.6% odds of making it in so I guess we need to win 2 more to get to 99.9%

6,7,10 and 11 seeds are all good. Just avoid the dreaded 8-9 matchup.

Let's Go State!

Yeah, 20 wins and 8 Q1 wins is going to get us in. Anything from now on is about moving up the pairings.
