To me, it looks like something that can just happen with random chance. OSU got 3 more matches (8-5) than ISU. That doesn’t seem outrageous to me. Some teams are bound to get more, and some less. That is how randomness works.

The big takeaway for me is that OSU got bonus and ISU did not.
I don't think the point was really OSU vs. ISU in this case. More so the disparity between OSU and OU in first round matches.

No. That is immaterial. It's about the number of chances you have to get bonus. Significantly more chances were given to OSU. You start breaking down the numbers and it gets even worse. Yes, we missed opportunities to get bonus but the same or relatively same number of chances should be given to each team if your going to have a fair tournament. Not some lopsided advantage out of the gate to one team.

<2% chance for OSU to get 8 first-round matches.
3% chance for OU get only 1 first-round match.

And BOTH of those things happened.

I’m not disagreeing they had more chances. They certainly did. I’m only arguing that it is not some kind of conspiracy. There is not a rule in place to ensure equal distribution of byes. Maybe there should be, but a random selection is the next best option. Over time, the results will balance out, but I’m any given year strange things can happen.

Good then I plan on a very high percentage of our guys getting pigtails and Okie St getting hardly any to even it out.

I hope it happens this year but it may not. Given a long enough time horizon it will definitely happen.

I would need to know who is the committee that overseas the random draw. If it is people tied to OSU or Oklahoma because of it being in Oklahoma, then I am skeptical. If it is a group committee of Big 12 representatives, then it is probably legit.

I don’t have any Oklahoma connections. I did go to Oklahoma State wrestling camps in Okoboji when I was a kid. Not sure that will help much!

Probably in the 70’s, so 50. I think it is originally Myron Roderick wrestling camp
I had a buddy that always wore his Al Baxter camp shirt under his shoulder pads. Guessing you might of hit that one as well?

This fish stinks. It's not just one year that OSU gets this advantage, its every year. And always the other top teams get nada. Even if John Smith got to make the choice himself, he couldn't do much better than this "random" draw.
