125 - 3rd I don't really like Kysen's place in the bracket, would much rather be in the 4/5 match with Cardinale in the semis. However, I think he beats Teske, the way Teske won that first match was flukey imo.

133- 5th I could see Ramazan going on a run, after Fix he could beat anyone imo

141- 4th Parker can definitely win this weight, feels like he is pretty dinged up though. I will say he drops one to Hart and to Alirez.

149- 2nd beats Mcdougle, loses another wild one to gfeller.

157- Champ

165 - 7th going to be tough to crack that top 6, pretty deep weight

174 - 7th another deep weight

184- 2nd, I don't love getting Keegan Moore in the quarter but think Marcus is able to slip by.

197 3rd Who knows? I think Elam is the best guy in the bracket, don't love getting him in the quarter but Yonger can do it again. Will be interesting to see Yonger vs someone like Sloan who is a top position specialist. Won't be worried about results at this weight very much for NCAA seeding purposes, the top 10-15 guys at NCAAs are all pretty similar, its going to be a tough path no matter what you get seeded.

Hwt 3rd This will depend a lot on Metz health at the 6 seed. He is a good wrestler but hasn't been active much this year.

We finish with 9 qualifiers

25 - 4th. Think he loses to Teske but is able to beat Sutton or Mastro whoever he matches up with in Consi semis.
33 - 4th here too. Think he beats March, and then wins over Prata in Consi semis.
41 - 2nd. Think he loses to either Alirez or Carlson.
49 - 1st. Starting the train now. Gfeller is someone who is not scared to mix it up with Degen, so think he gets him in a funky position for some back points.
57 - 1st
65 - not spending anytime looking at this bracket.
74 - 7th
84 - 2nd. Only loses to Keck.
97 - 5th. Capable of winning, just the pessimist in me. The Elam win was fluke so have him losing that and then also to Sloan or Woodley in Consi semis.
Hvy - 4th.

Since there are no true placement matches this year (which is stupid), you can start locking in some NCAA qualifiers earlier than usual.

*All semifinalists at 125, 133, 141, 157, 174, 197, and HWT will move on because there are 6+ bids at each of those weights. So, anyone with a first-round bye at those weights only has to win their first match to be an NCAA qualifier.

*First-round conso winners at 174 will advance, because there are 8 bids.

That kind of performance from 25 and 33 I think goes a long way in getting that team trophy. I hope your right.

Kysen could place anywhere from 1st to 7th and Yonger could be anywhere from 1st to 6th. Going to be fun to watch them kick ass.

Just as a goof, I took the arena locations of the current Big 12 teams and figured a geographic midpoint -- which comes out between Lincoln and Grand Island.

Adding Cal Baptist (who is joining the league next year) only moves the marker west to Kearney.

So, Kansas City would obviously be a much better central location than Tulsa.

Not exactly sure.
Because Drake would be a dud venue.
That would be a dud, that is why I have been to a lot of wrestling tournaments and none have ever been at Drake. There are several options besides the Well. What is attendance at these? I haven't been to one since it was only 5 teams.

Why not Des Moines?
I think Des Moines would be great, and draw a large crowd. I was thinking more centrally located to maximize the amount of fans from that would show up. You would still get the Oklahoma crowds, and now that Missouri is back they would also travel. A lot easier for the Uni and State fans to go to KC than Tulsa. I also live in KC so I am being selfish.
