Which helped themselves more at the combine? I didn't watch or follow it so don't know.

There's a big difference in the passing game between the two. Breece with several times the production in the passing game, and he's proven to be pretty good at stonewalling a blitz. Both had very fast 40 times. Breece excelled in some of the other events, and his speed combined with being a little heavier might be seen as an advantage for him, but they're still the top two, and there's probably still debate about which one is the first off the board
Here is a better draft prediction, ranks 352 players, 55 pages! There are a lot of mock drafts. Here is one, all 7 rounds, ...
Edit: I removed this mock draft as it was not current. It was from Aug 7, 2021. My error.
Yeah, I think Breece is the best back in the draft, but if a team went into the combine already thinking that Walker was number 1, he performed well enough that their opinion might not have changed. That's the story of the NFL draft. The best player doesn't always go first. Not to mention, college/combine performance is not always an indicator of future success. There's a big difference in the passing game between the two. Josh Allen and breece in the same backfield would be outrageously fun to watch. Would be an instant Bills fan (somewhat am already)The Bills would be a great situation for Breece. They have a pick near the bottom of round 1.
Thanks for that! Here are the links. For what it's worth, both SI and SBNation released mock drafts today and he went first round in both.
Breece will make a star out of himself.Maybe Breece is just better but even with the Ravens running, they don't make stars out or any single back.
Maybe there's something to that but usage matters too. The Raven's in particular seem dedicated to not letting one RB look too good. I don't know what's the best scenario but I hope he gets as much play as DM.Breece will make a star out of himself.
Man I can't wait for the draft.Maybe there's something to that but usage matters too. The Raven's in particular seem dedicated to not letting one RB look too good. I don't know what's the best scenario but I hope he gets as much play as DM.

I wouldn't put too much stock in that first one. The premise of it is what if NFL teams could only draft offensive skill players. That equates to only about 6 out of 24-26 starters on a team. Thanks for that! Here are the links.

NFL Mock Draft: Compete first round after the NFL combine
A lineman-heavy draft full of promise.www.sbnation.com
Your point stands, but I'd argue McCaffrey was worthy of a first round pick.I feel similar. If you go back and look at recent first round running backs, there's not a single one that doesn't have strikes against them. Whether it's significant injury or underperforming, or both, there are very few that have lived up to their pick.
Clyde Edwards-Helaire
Josh Jacobs
Saquon Barkley
Rashaad Penny
Sony Michel
Leonard Fournette
Christian McCaffrey
Ezekiel Elliott
(Not including Najee Harris yet)
Are these players bad? No. But how many of them are truly worth the pick they were taken with?
And yes, I realize that many first round picks at other positions don't pan out, but that list is literally all of the running backs taken in the first round since 2016, and there's not a single one you can't make a case for being not worth their pick.
When he's healthy, sure. But he hasn't been healthy in two years. That goes to my point. Running backs take a massive amount of punishment, and are at high risk to be injured. Carolina sunk a ton of money into McCaffrey's contract and so far he's vastly underperformed on it. Yes that's due to injury, but at the end of the day, it doesn't really matter why. There's a reason that there's trade talk swirling around him.Your point stands, but I'd argue McCaffrey was worthy of a first round pick.
The injury argument is obvious, but even when healthy, the other backs are your list are not difference makers. McCaffrey is.When he's healthy, sure. But he hasn't been healthy in two years.
