The fan base as a whole? Probably not. And CF? Maybe not in vacuum, but fans on here unreasonably hate the big 10, so it's not going to be great. I think Big 10 fans can sometimes be too full of themselves, but I think CF goes too far in the other direction.
Plus, we know what the game threads and post game threads will be like (and not by everyone, but enough that it won't be enjoyable.
During the game:
Towards Iowa State players: "X ******* sucks, why is he playing? T.J. need to pull him."
Towards Wisconsin: "Your team is dirty," "the refs are bailing you out all game," you suck," "the big 10 sucks"
After the game:
If Iowa State wins: "Wisconsin ******* sucks," and "the Big 10 sucks"
If Wisconsin wins: "you won because of the refs," "you still suck," "your team is dirty," etc.
None of that sounds enjoyable
Reason I have issues with B1G fans, case in point tonight.
Coworker texts me asking me how I'm doing after ISU's game.
I just told him 'Tyrese Hunter, Racine native with a big win!' then told him about TH's season, etc. To me it's cool that WI players go other places and do well.
He was wondering why WI didn't go for him, and I just said ISU has gotten some good WI players including Haliburton and WI screwed up not going for them.
His response? 'Was it grades?'
And THAT is why I have a hard time talking to some Bucky fans. If someone didn't go to WI, it's because they aren't good enough. I've heard ISU called 'little brother', 'small school', etc. And the 'grades' thing rubs me wrong on a few levels.
The rest of your points are valid though. ISU won an NCAA tourney game (not that common) and posters can't handle it.
