I listened to that part of the show and didn’t hear any inference that it was Carr. Clearly there was a big surprising name that they said was thinking of transferring to PSU, but I didn’t get Carr at all from the FRL bit.

I probably stated that wrong , but it has definitely led to people believing it is Carr to PSU
I have seen several people share this as evidence of the rumors of Carr to PSU, so I think you’re right about that. I just don’t get it. I think people are trying to use this to make it fit the message board rumors, but if you listen to what they actually said I’m just not seeing the connection.
A few reasons why I strongly believe David will not be transferring from Iowa State:
Never say never, but I am pretty close to saying never gonna happen
- He seems to love being an Iowa State Cyclone and continuing the Carr legacy at Iowa State
- He is the leader of the team and the face of the wrestling program at Iowa State. If he goes to Penn State, he would be one of their top wrestlers, but wouldn't be the face of the program.
- His dad is still the head coach of the CRTC, and I do not see that changing any time soon
- He is beloved on campus and seems to genuinely love going to college in Ames
- He talked about his bond with Metcalf at the social after the tournament and how much working with Brent means to him. He's not leaving that

I can say it will never happen.
Hawk wrestling fans (and coaches) live under the premise that if you just say something loud enough repeatedly then it just becomes fact. The truth and logic be damned.
Started at 174, and was mildly successful. Bumped to 184 and has been meh.
Does have 2 years left.
Yup, he bumped to 184 middle of his first season. Filled in once at 197 this year. I'd think 174 would be stretch for him at this point for sure.
For anyone slightly worried, David was on a podcast today with Aaron Brooks and Basch. Basch asked him straight up if he was going to transfer to PSU.
David laughed that people are arguing about it on both sides. Said AB he is brother, but forget about it, not happening. He likes Penn State and cheers for them and they're good people, but he loves Iowa State, likes the coaches, and has more work to do here.
For April 1st he was going to post 'We Are' with a heart, but realized what that would do to people. This would've been very mean of David
