Kennedy Monday is transferring from North Carolina. Looks like he was pursuing MMA last year, would Iowa state be interested? I think he wrestled 165?

He originally tweeted he found out he had 2 year’s eligibility , then there was a tweet with him saying decisions and pics of him in singlets PSU ASU a blank with a ? And another - maybe Ohio State , don’t remember. Today he tweeted he is now looking into getting one year of eligibility and apologized for his previous tweets. Now that tweet is gone. Not sure what’s going on.

I was thinking the possible connection with Mondays dad who is pretty good friends with Nate Carr would help with a possible transfer. Regardless would be nice to get a transfer maybe 149,157

Results from California State
120:

Finals: #14-Ethan Perryman, Temecula Valley dec. Richard Murillo, Canyon Springs, 5-3

Notes: Someone get on Perryman! He's an uncommitted senior. Murillo had a cinderella run. He's just a sophomore that came in ranked 6th in the state.

Semifinal Results:

#14-Ethan Perryman, Temecula Valley fall. Bryce Luna, St. Francis, 5:07

Richard Murillo, Canyon Springs fall. Romero Sanchez, Esperanza, 5:51

Quarterfinal Results:

#14-Ethan Perryman, Temecula Valley fall Adrian Limon, Northview, 2:25

Bryce Luna, St. Francis dec. Allan Hendricks, Calvary Chapel, 5-0

Romero Sanchez, Esperanza dec. Logan Valledor, Vacaville, 5-1

152:

Finals: #5-Nicco Ruiz, Bosco md. #14-Sloan Swan, Buchanan, 10-0

Notes: Geez, Ruiz. Nicco dominated a deep bracket giving up just two escapes in six total matches. He'd be my pick for OW.

Semifinal Results:

#5-Nicco Ruiz, Bosco dec. Devyn Che, Calvary Chapel, 7-0

#14-Sloan Swan, Buchanan dec. HM-Mark Takara, Temecula Valley, 3-1 OT

#14-Sloan Swan, Buchanan md. Jake Honey, Bakersfield, 9-1

160:

Finals: #3-MJ Gaitan, Temecula Valley dec. #10-Luke Gayer, Calvary Chapel, 2-1 OT

Notes: S32 Champ Gaitan, who was upset last week against Gayer, had a couple squeakers but got the job done. Angelo Posada, just a freshmen, reached the semi's and finished 4th.

#3-MJ Gaitan, Temecula Valley dec. Oscar Aranda, Bosco, 3-1

Is this a longer term development-type kid?
jmho, give him a year to get on full feed and college strength training and he is going to be tough at 125. A California champion is damn good and the coaches being able to see him in person at the tournament is good enough for me.

Yep definitely one that is going to benefit from a full years worth of college level conditioning, nutrition and strength.

I think that should be the expectation. Winning a Cali state title makes him a very good prospect, but without much in terms of national credentials it would be silly to expect anything else.

Not sure if this will post correctly, but he has been in a bunch of tournaments and done quite well the past few seasons, but he has to mature physically and grow still.

Not sure either. Given his low national ranking, I’m guessing none of those opponents is all that highly regarded in terms of D1.

Don’t see any major national events on that list.

The only one I recognize is Dominic Mendez he’s a top 15-ish guy nationally I believe

Willie saying Iowa is the other team in the mix for Gaitan. With Riggins signed and Kennedy coming off a redshirt not sure thats sense but I guess you make room for the good ones.

You either spelled ASU wrong, or Willie doesn't know what he is talking about. I'm taking the latter.
