and at some point, you have the owner/sponsor suites, you use it as a business building tool as well.
They more than likely don't care as long as their team is a contender, and they get sweet tickets or a sky box.
The only ROI these rich donors care about is their EGO, being able to brag to anyone that'll listen that they paid for so and so to come to their school.
Agree that communicating through a high school coach while being an adult enrolled in college is not a great sign for Iowa State...
Looks like the personal reasons are NIL.
I don't know why it's so hard for folks to have both subjects intertwined.

That was my thought too........if there was nothing...you just keep doing your thing...unless of course BEST CASE is a "Tyrese came back after the tourney to work with our coaches and local kids as he did classes online....and wanted to assure everyone he will be back in Ames in two weeks for finals."
BUT, my gut envisions a

No way a quote that honest or that revealing would be stated. "after talking w/my family and coaches it is in my best interest to enter the transfer portal". That's all you'll get, imo.
An AAC game drawing nearly 1 million viewers on ESPN isn't normal.
The week before the early game on ESPN2 was Northwestern - Wisconsin. Wisconsin is one of the top viewed non-blue blood in the country and that game drew 670k. The late slot on ESPN2 was Cincy and USF and it drew just under 1.2 M. Black Friday Cincy - ECU got 2.4M. Colorado-Utah on Fox at the same slot (well, 30 min difference) got only 1.5 M. Now Arkansas/Mizzou got almost 3M in that slot on CBS, but realistically the SEC kind of kicks everybody's ass in top to bottom viewership.
I'm just being honest here (I said it before when the whole NIL thing started and again when it looked like the B12 had a chance to become garbage):
If ISU can't have a chance to compete at the same level, while still being forced to BE at that same level, I just won't watch or care.
NIL is a stepping stone in the right direction, but of course the NCAA is ******* it up by not getting ahead of it, so now it's even more wild west than when this **** was hush hush under the table.
JP managed to raise $5 mil to pay Prohm to not be here anymore (actually $10 mil to snag Otz as well). Thus, I think it's plausible we're capable of raising significantly less to keep Tyrese.
