I know you're "not supposed to" because "reasons??????" but if I'm ISU I'm blocking a transfer to Kansas. I don't care about the optics of it. Can't let it happen.

There's been a fair number of bad threads on this site but not sure there's ever been one where ISU fans have come off more embarrassing and petulant than this one.

He's a 19-year old kid who we all know had a very heartbreaking upbringing who is now attempting to profit off of his own skills (which he sees other players doing, is now legal, and is something every person in this thread would like to do with their own skillset), and people are acting as if he's now a "bad kid". It sucks that he's leaving, but dear god, have some perspective people. I expect our students to boo him next year if he's at KU but for grown adults to be so overly pouty about this particular transfer (when our program is largely built through transfers!) is so weird and hypocritical to me. Just remember, Tyrese will never have the same fandom for ISU that you do, and you should never expect any college athlete to be as invested in your team/school as you are.
Has Hunter put out some sort of statement about seeking out NIL deals as the reason he is leaving or is that speculation based on the fact that he is leaving and the circumstances of his upbringing?

Not some statement, but that has been the info from inside the program. He isn't going to put out a statement saying, " I am leaving to get a good NIL deal"

Which begs the question, should ISU be looking for a replacement for Nike? They basically see ISU as a bottom rung of their schools that they outfit. And I also believe it has been shared here on CF that ISU doesn't see a whole lot of money from Nike in the first place, so they sure as hell have NEVER been steering any athlete to go to school in Ames.

Shouldn't ISU leadership talk/look at other companies that could possibly help out out more? (Under Armour for instance?)
They should get a deal with Crocs. Of course it probably won't help the team's play...

Private schools have a lot more leeway in working the finances...Baylor says hi!

Baylor is well ahead of the curve on everyone else. They are sitting back laughing at the rest of the country scrambling around while they’ve had basically this set up in place for 10 years.

Baylor is Duke Lite. Duke has been doing it since the mid 80s.
