I think it's 4. The ACC will exist until schools can break their ACC GOR. Then we will see 3 conferences: Big10, SEC, Big 20-something.
Could be, I could see the ACC taking schools like WV and UCF after they get poached to even things out. ACC as the 2nd tier east conference, Big 12 as the 2nd Tier western conference.

PAC remaining pecking order is

Oregon
Big gap
Washington and Utah
Big gap
ASU
CU
UA
Arizona is probably higher on the B1G list simply because they are AAU.

But AZ St, Stanford, and Oregon St are the only ones left with Wrestling so there is that, for the wrestling fans.

"The Big 12, with newly named commissioner Brett Yormark, plans to go on the offensive and seek more new members, sources said.

The Big 12 could add Arizona, Arizona State, Utah and Colorado along with new members BYU, Cincinnati, Houston and UCF to get to 16 teams after OU and Texas leave for the SEC, a source said. Other Big 12 sources prefer Washington and Oregon as part of the Big 12.

“The Big 12 has never been aggressive (in conference realignment), but they should contact those four Pac-12 schools and tell them ‘come on board because there’s nothing left’ in the Pac-12,” a source said.

Added another source: “We’re not sitting back this time. That killed us in the past. We’re looking to strengthen our conference.”

There is some hope among Pac-12 sources that the league will add schools from the Big 12 or maybe even some type of merger between the leagues.

Whatever happens, one source summed up the future of conference realignment best: “Buckle up, because this is going to be one helluva ride.”

None of those schools are coming here until they get an answer from the B1G anyway. Of course we should be trying to get UW and Oregon. Why not try?

It would be funny if the Big 12 and Pac-12 merged and announced Kliavkoff as the commish. Yormark's tenure would be minus 4 weeks long.

So what do we need to do to cut UCF, Houston, and Cincy loose? I'm fine hanging on to BYU. But this just turned into a buyers market for us, and for once I would like to see us upgrade.

I’ve never understood how ASU isn’t a powerhouse. I went there when we played them a couple years ago and every single coed was stunning. Add in the weather and a really cool stadium and it’s just baffling they aren’t dominant
They are stunning to the average pecker head ....but not to the star athlete who can pretty much choose who he wants. All comes down to who can get me to the pros, not to the boobs.

It doesnt seem like there's a limit on conference size now that everyone is going divisionless. I don't think these adds prevent us from adding anyone we want now.
