I think that it is 50/50 at this point. lost of conflicting reports regarding it all.

The athletic put out an article about the timeline of how it went down after talking to everyone involved.
The Pope would get them out of it, him and the gazillions of dollars the Catholic Church controls.
Yeah I have not heard of that at all. If anything, I believe that would be an individual college situation. No idea why it would be the conference fault.
If, and it's still a big if, Oregon and Washington are left out from the Big Ten which apparently seems to be the case today, I am not sure how they DON'T end up in the Big 12. Are they really going to stand pat with the current PAC 12 fully KNOWING that the Big 12 is gonna come steal four teams?
We all scoff at the ACC's GoR and it's awful but its the one shaky leg keeping this whole thing from going off the rails.
Im sure in the right scenario it can be killed. But there are some significant hurdles. And I am sure everyone has to be happy and have landing spots.
If everyone is not happy that they are getting equal landing spots they might not vote to dissolve. Syracuse might not get a spot somewhere, and if Pitt goes to the Big 12 and is making 75% what Clemson is getting in the SEC than they might not consider it an equal deal.
This is why these things get to be such a mess. Im sure if there was a full on merger, or enough teams were taken by 1 conference to make the vote happen then maybe. Maybe even if the SEC and B1G took enough they could get it done, but I am sure it is tricky.

No... at 16 it works out pretty nicely with 4 team pods. You play the 3 other teams in your pod every year and 6 teams from the other 3 pods home & away rotating the 6 every 2 yrs. You end up playing every conf team home and away every 4 yrs and play 9 conf games. I actually like 16 teams the most once you get past 12.
But others have said to wait on ND, as soon as ND says something publicly I wont believe anything.
So they going to go after Big 12 schools? Each conference probably end up going after each others schools. Who will win out???
Agreed. I just don't see any way Oregon/Washington stay. It might be a deal where they come in a year later.
It was probably planned this way by the networks in charge so they didn't look like they were destroying that conference. We've seen that before.
No one from the big12 is going to the pac12 with Washington and Oregon having a foot out the door.
Not sure that when the ACC allowed Notre Dame in for 5 football games and non revenue sports ten years ago they knew they were giving them the nuclear launch button for the survival of the league. But that's where they're at.
I mean...I am sure they are looking at Big 12 schools but the Big 12 has way more leverage right now. The wording is interesting in that tweet...yeah they could be looking to expand but that very likely means teams like Boise State, Colorado State, etc. Just my hunch.
I think they know the Big 12 is gonna come poaching so they HAVE to be looking at saving the league with the remaining PAC 12 teams like OSU, CAL, WSU, etc
I don't see how it makes sense for any Big 12 schools to travel to the west coast to play the non-marquee pac 12 schools.
I do see how it makes sense for the four mountain Pac schools to join Big 12 immediately.
Yep. Idk when those start to get renegotiated but when the players, coaches, and networks don't care about something its pretty likely to just end
They know the Big 12 smells blood in the water. I don't think anyone believes Oregon and Washington are staying put if they get an invite to the B10 (one with ND or both together). The Arizona schools, Colorado and Utah surely dont believe that those two will prop up the conference indefinitely.
Im pretty sure Notre Dame is tied to the ACC GOR in part, but dont think its as iron clad
