I think Arizona adds value because of what their leaving does to the PAC 12. If the PAC 12 loses quality teams, it will be devalued as a league compared to the Big 12. I think it is important for the Big 12 to improve its relative strength compared to other conferences. You think Arizona adds value?
If FSU and Clemson got out of their GOR, they’d be in the SEC in about an hour.If we’re going to try to expand beyond the 12 members going forward, why not go bigger? Geography seems to be less and less of an issue. The B12 should try to poach Oregon and Washington in the west and Florida State and Clemson in the east. Go big or go home.

Very true. Cal and Stanford are both afterthoughts in the Bay Area market. While they have decent (Stanford) to meh (Cal) followings, they're not going to bring much to the table for any new P5 arrangement. Bay Area is a pro sports market, plain and simple. The 49ers (and formerly Raiders) rule the airwaves and capture the attention. During other times of the year, it's the Giants, the A's, the Warriors (and the Kings to a lesser extent), the Sharks, and the Quakes that are pullling in the most eyeballs. I remember when I first moved out there, how little attention was paid to college athletics, outside of a MAJOR accomplishment. But moving from Iowa to the (now) 5th largest CSA in the nation (nearly 10 million people), I had no previous experience with pro sports being the "priority." It was definitely different. From viewership, probably much nothing.
Maybe…but if that were true, why aren’t they already there? We should give it a shot. Or even try to snag Miami and NC or Duke. We have 3 schools out east already, might as well increase our presence there. If FSU and Clemson got out of their GOR, they’d be in the SEC in about an hour.

Exceedingly wrongWe're witnessing the nation go through the stages of grief on realizing they're wrong on the Big 12/Pac12.
Pac 12 is way above Big 12 and will survive. The Alliance proves it.
Losing USC isn't a big deal, the Pac 12 can just poach top of Big 12
Pac12 still has better brands than Big12, and will get the better deal.
College football is better with the Pac, we need to save it, if you care about CFB, Big 12 schools should move
Nothing matters anymore outside P2, might as well stay at 10 with the Pac
Maybe the Big 12-Pac10 can fully merge into Pac22
Hopefully we can close the deal and get a few to jump on the way to a Big 18 and the P3

Now Iowa vs Wisconsin on the other hand? Some groovy and up in your grill **** right there"The Big 12 wants to be hipper, younger, cooler. There's not much that's hip, young and cool about an Iowa State-Cincinnati game".
Thank you, Dennis. Hope you earn some nice pennies this time for sharing your thoughts and expertise![]()
They cannot get out of the GOR with the ACC, and its "illegal" for the SEC to invite them, the school, has to make the first move. Now I am sure that ESPN has been talking to them about moving, but they cannot find a way around the GOR.Maybe…but if that were true, why aren’t they already there? We should give it a shot. Nothing says hip, young, and cool like Oregon State vs Kansas football"The Big 12 wants to be hipper, younger, cooler. There's not much that's hip, young and cool about an Iowa State-Cincinnati game".
