Screw Utah, here is the deal, take it or leave it. If they think the B10 is going to offer them a slot, let them at it. It's a fool's errand, leave them on the sinking ship.
Agree. The minute we start giving certain members preferential treatment, we return to all the problems which broke the Big 12 apart to begin with.
Yep ... don't start feeling need to make concessions and bend over backward. Big 12 isn't the league on cusp of unraveling. Pac members have choices, let 'em deal with it. Want in? Cool -- same deal for everyone. Want to wait for better offer? Fine. We're still here if you change your mind and if there's a slot. Want to stay in Pac? Nobody's forcing you to move.

Certainly, an expanded B12 that happens to include some element of UO/Utah/Washington wouldn't hurt, but if you want to give Blue Light Special deals, might as well just merge.

So then if Oklahoma and Texas said they'd stay in the Big 12 as long as they receive more than their fair share of the annual media payout, would you be okay with that too?

We've seen what preferential treatment for certain member institutions has done to the Big 12 over the last few decades. The key to long term stability is treating all members equally. Don't need any more Texas type prima Donas in the Big 12.
ISU and the Kansas schools offered that deal to them when they were thinking about moving to the Pac 12. If UT and OU made the request today, I would be in favor of doing it of OU, but only OU. Let UT go to the SEC and die a nice slow death.

The Big 12 was in survival mode and operating from a desperate position back then. We are not in that position now. If we don't learn from our mistakes, we're doomed to repeat them.

Could be wrong, but isn't the unequal revenue sharing for the new four only until the new contract kicks in? If any Pac members were joining at the same time the new contract kicks in (2025 season?) then they could be added at full share with basically the same rationale as the new four.

If Utaor whoever is being dicks about whatever then so be it. Last thing our conference needs is another Texass and Sooners. All members need to be on the same page for strength of the conference. Eventually they’ll get their dose of reality.

We are in a desperate position in regards to P2 though. We’ll be fortunate to make half. It is not yet certain we’ll even survive.

If OUT wanted back in for some special deal, we’d let them imo. We’d then immediately add the top remaining PAC and be very close to P2.

If OUT later left, big deal, we’re still better off as we used them to end the PAC and likely ACC.

That’s kind of a misleading headline when it’s basically speculating that NBC might be interested in getting Big XII games to run before or after ND games. Doesn’t really seem like a Big XII/ND partnership is in the works.

Besides, ND has 5 games with the ACC per year, 2 rivalry games they’ll never give up (Navy, USC) and a 3rd they’d fight very hard to keep (Stanford). That doesn’t leave much room on the schedule.
