To quote what's her face from whatever movie it's from... "Stop trying to make 'SDSU to the Big 12' happen. It's not gonna happen."
It's Regina in "Mean Girls".

It's literally the first time I've said anything about SDSt to Big12 and only in the context of the elitist PAC 12 pisses me off so I'd love it if we took their only decent option. I firmly believe SD St would have been one of our four had their geography not put them on an Island.

All honesty, all the Big 12 needs to do is wait. I know everyone, myself included likes to hear we're being aggressive, but I believe with patience this is all going to work out in our favor. The entire big 12 seems to understand we are the better conference, the national media (ESPN/CBS) seem to get it, and even some of the PAC's beat writers seem to get it. If we wait, we're getting decent teams from the PAC and/or the ACC eventually. No need to act quickly.

Way up there
And you know this how and we should just believe you?

SDSU may be a better add than CO and AZ. There is something to be said about SoCal market and decent fan base and new football stadium.
The new stadium that seats 35k? The fanbase that averages 25k a game during a 12 win season? If they were worth the add, they'd be a big 12 team. No way they'd pass on a school thatcan replace USC/UCLA when it comes to the SoCal market right?. I think they may be one of the best g5 options for the pac but that's not saying much.

Low attendance was due to the stadium not being on campus and you had to commute to the old Charger stadium. On campus stadium will make a difference. Yes it’s smaller than others in the Big 12 but TV market will matter.

Looking backwards to what CO & AZ used to be is no way to move forward.

The leftovers can't afford to be an incubator for what could be. SDSU has the same exact issues as the weak PAC, with a little less academic blindness but also less national brand.

UCF, Cincinnati, Houston, and BYU all ahead and all in parts of the country that care about college football

All things being equal, we may like them over these **** PAC programs, but taking the **** PAC programs helps eliminate the PAC. That's largely what this is all about.

My preferences based on what I believe they bring to the Big 12 from PAC/Power5: Oregon>Washington>Stanford>ArizonaSt>Utah>Arizona>Colorado>Cal>SDSt>Memphis>Wazzu>OregonSt>BoiseSt Honestly Oregon seems like Texas 2.0. Stanford would never join due to their elitist attitude. Utah fans have delusions of grandeur, but honestly enjoying their attitude and would enjoy seeing them play BYU every year. I've watched the holy war in the past and love it. Anything less than Colorado the Big12 should not take at the moment. I have my eyes on teams like Louisville and Pitt in addition to Corner schools. Be aggressive, but play the long game!

I am skeptical that the Big 12 will be the #3 conference. ND could really mess this all up and form its own conference headlined by ND, Clemson, Oregon to counter B10's tOSU, Michigan, USC and SEC's Alabama, Georgia, OU. Deals could be done, blood could be shed, some schools wouldn't survive. Where that could leave the Big 12 is anybody's guess.

The Big 12 could continue to pick up the scraps. Maybe it'll be the cool, hip league that's still needed, yet continues to be treated like the little brother. Or, maybe it won't even be considered a top tier league and it'll be forced to have it's own playoff, similar to the NIT. Oh god. Positive thoughts, positive thoughts.

Notre Dame wants to be Independent. And they can. $75 Million for their rights.

I don't think we need or want both AZ schools, maybe not both Utah schools. It will be interesting to see which Pac schools end up getting left out because of this.
I think they are all big enough to be takes. The Utah BYU, Arizona Arizona State, Colorado Utah, Colorado former Big8 rivalries will be nice additions.

Plus Utah has kind of emerged as the team everyone in the current Big12 just wants to beat the **** out of based on their Twitter fan base, so that’s fun too.

If the PAC 12 is just gonna add teams to add teams they’re screwed. I mean, they’re already screwed but they’re just delaying the inevitable. And I think (hope) the 4 corner schools plus Oregon and Washington know that. The ratings won’t change and the money will just get divided even more.

And if Oregon and Washington want a bigger piece of the pie, the 4 corner schools won’t like that at all. They literally have a life raft (the Big12) sitting right there for them. Swallow your stupid ******* pride and jump ship.

This is what I expected though and you nail it with the bold. It’s just the 5 steps of grieving they are going through.

And they don’t have to do **** for anyone, they don’t have to listen to anyone or help anyone. No dumb league commissioner, no dumb Michigan people crying all of the time. That’s probably worth 25 million to them.

Notre Dame not getting the number they want from NBC might be a good thing too. That likely makes them B1G bound. Which likely takes 1-3 PAC schools with them. Helps get our main PAC targets in the Big12, AND CBS and NBC both likely want in on the Big12, as well as Amazon and probably others. Fox and ESPN may still be looking for inventory, as well as Apple and the list goes on.

Notre Dame is stubborn as ****. Even if they don't get that number I think they stay independent. It is core to their identity. And I also don't think they would ever join the B1G due to all the bad history they have there.

They are also elitists. Being a conference with the West teams, the poors from Michigan, and backwater hillbillies of the eastern seaboard is just not an option for them. Then don’t even get me started on the potential memes of Pedo St and the pre-eminent Catholic school in the country. They have it SO GOOD AND ALL THE WAYS RIGHT NOW.
