Fantastic, but not surprised these guys can recruit especially TJ. Wanted TJ when Fred left knowing who he recruited to Ames during Fred’s time. Let’s roll.

On paper I wasn't so sure about the hire, but I was to the point where it was clear to win in Ames you need a guy that understands Ames, knows how to recruit to Ames, and is all in 100%. We didn't need a big name or who was the hot prospect (think Chizik), we needed a guy who loves Iowa State and compensation wasn't the biggest factor in him coaching here. So it was basically a wait and see but trust JP thing.

From what I understood it was pretty much any coach that had a big name because they all want to coach at ISU. /s

I don't recall the last time there was an extensive search at ISU so the folks that will still never let that go just need a problem and had a weird fascination with CSP.
