Concert on Sept 3rd.
Remove existing and install new after the concert.
Home game on Sept 11th vs Niners.

Is that even possible to get a whole field done and rooted and safe to play on in that time frame? Am I going to jinx Chuck Bruce's health by even bringing up this question?

I seem to remember the Patriots doing some like this when they put in turf. Was an in season change if I remember.

As far as Soldier Field, the world's greatest minds couldn't fix that dump. Not an NFL caliber stadium in any way.

i was wondering why the grass looked like ass for their first preseason game.

usually they do the center chunk in the middle of the season.

I've seen center chunks redone but assumed it was during a bye week or away game. Just seems like an awfully short window.

No matter what they do, it can't be worse than the Steelers game about 10-12 years ago where the entire sod layers was basically floating on top of the old one and the game almost went scoreless.

Not a Bears fan but have been to games there and it's going to suck seeing them playing in Arlington Heights.

They played the Dolphins that night. I remember a punt landing and just stick in the sod. It didn't bounce or roll and inch.

When I watched the preseason game, the field looked terrible. I watched a clip from the Pat Macafee show about the Bears and they said the field was in bad shape prior to the concert. They said the MLS team uses the field and the players were complaining about the surface recently.

I thought teams will regularly replace in between the hash marks during the season. Especially once it gets cold and torn up.

The morning show said last week the city of chicago takes care of the field. Mind blown, how the **** do they not have a grounds crew dedicated to the field.

Which is why it won't matter what type of playing surface they install. They will **** it up. The Bears need new ownership, and they need to move to Arlington Heights.
