I consider "skeletons in the closet" to be a phrase attributed more to speculative issues. Not known issues.

If I can speculate (without getting lambasted too much for it.....), I'm betting the Hoiberg & Chizik eras weren't all that squeaky clean recruiting wise.
I think you are onto something here as I have heard the "compliance issues" we had when Hoiberg was here was much worse than what was being reported and the Athletic Department worked their tails off to clean up the mess and limit the damage that could have impacted us more than it did at the time. I don't know the specifics other than someone in the know that was involved in it told me they got on it immediately and nipped it before it would have had some serious negative impact on the department.

Your take is like your penis: it’s ugly and nobody wants to see it…it’s best kept zipped up and put away. If you do feel the need to whip it out, go to the hok boards- they have an affinity for the small things.

Damn, harsh but excellent :)

And some degree of it going under the radar at the time. Like I wouldn't consider Eustachy a skeleton in the closet, that skeleton was drug out for everyone to see.

I know nothing about it but Floyd's recruiting always comes up in these types of threads.
I met my wife through one of the bag men. No idea who hired him or what involvement there was, i never wanted to know. But our plans were side-tracked because of a call from a couple players.

I heard a pretty narsty party rumor regarding Tinsley. If anyone knows what I might be referring to give it a like.
Had a friend in college that had a a run in with him while she was standing in line for a bar. She didn't know that he was standing behind her and felt someone grab her ass. She turned around to see who it was and he had a big grin on his face and just said "what?" She let him know she didn't appreciate what he did, I guess he and some guys with him then left and start shouting slut and some other things at her. I'm not surprised if there are some stories about him out there. One of the main reasons he wound up at ISU was a lot of other programs had concerns about his behavior off the court. The week after we got upset by Hampton he and his crew were driving loops around campustown in a brand new Escalade I remember so he was obviously got over blowing the game winning layup quickly. Not to open up a bad wound either but also heard a disturbing story regarding Bubu Palo and a party and the person who witnessed it I consider a pretty trustworthy person that I doubt he was making it up.

LOL, I had a friend that had Kelvin Cato in one of his classes and he said he seriously wondered if he knew how to read. Remember the days when we had to worry about guys being academically eligible to play? It never seems to happen anymore for some reason but around that time we had several players on the BB team that had issues with it.

Yeah when I heard from some older guys about that tinsley story my jaw dropped. I wasn’t in school until 06 so he was basically a hero to me up until that point.

Its Randy Brown and it's not close

Even Eustacy stuff was not horrible compared to that scum bag.

I'm surprised no one else has mentioned this. I took the Human Sexuality class at ISU and he came and spoke to our class. For anyone who knows, how big of a story was this at the time it happened?

Do you even remember the hire?
He's referring to the rumors of domestic violence that popped up around his hire. I believe his wife later said she exaggerated the claims so I'm sure it's embarrassing but it did happen. They were legit enough at the time that if it happened today, he likely wouldn't be hired.

Nope - I was still in my early years of HS and still a Hok at the time. My first full year as a Cyclone fan was 1997, the year I started attending.

If I remember right it hit right before the Larry stuff, so it died out quickly.

I attended ISU in 2006, so my history before that is pretty limited. But I do remember being told that it happened towards the end of the Larry era.
