I hope we save black for one (or maybe two) of these (depending on kickoff timeframe, best under lights):

Baylor
K-State
Oklahoma

I'd rather use regular cardinal combo of some sort vs. OU, since it's probably last matchup ever at Trice.
I love the black but agree. I want them to be alternates, and alternates aren’t worn often. 1-2 times per year imo.

And another:
1) The JTS pressbox is outdated and inadequate, bring back the Clyde Williams pressbox! :jimlad:

2) Back in the days before consolidation/marketing of school media rights, when any radio station that wanted to be there could send their own announcers to cover a game (I see banners from KRNT and KMA, plus another one I can’t read)

So what uniform you think we will go with this 1st game? I say we will go W/C/W if not that then probably all Cardinal.

I'm guessing all-cardinal.

If contrast is anything, SEMO colors are black & red, I think primary road uni is black-white-black -- although not sure if that enters into the decision (seems like our combos aren't connected to opponent in any way).
Not sure what we go with Sat / week 1, but I sure hope we don't get rid of the all-cardinal at least once per year. It has become a staple I think, like it or not. And there was some talk last year that the players didn't like it.

I like the look so I'll say c/c/c also. If SEMO is red, that might have some bearing. I'm sure they always look at what the other team is likely to wear.

Earlier in training camp they did a video asking some of the players what their favorite uniform combo was and not a one said all Cardinal. Thought was interesting and frankly a thought that I agree with.

I'm wondering if we will see Black/Cardinal/Black again

?

I hope not. Sounds terrible.
Did we ever, yet? I don't think so.

And no reason to really. I suppose it wouldn't be the end of the world. But so many other better combos. We don't have to do every possible one. LOL We have a few that work, are fairly classic, at least in the CMC era. Stick with those.

Check that... it was Black/Cardinal/Cardinal I was thinking of.
Right. and that was a pretty good look, I thought, with the black socks. It might have been in part, the black collar, that made it so. I think it was the Baylor Home game, what was it, 2 years ago?

Edit: Or was it 4 years ago?? I'm getting old.

The RRW looks good.

Purdy looks so much sharper in his San Fran uni than ISU. Wonder why

I would say two reasons --

Monochromatic uniforms always look bad except for white over white.

Colored jerseys and pants should always contrast.

The boring plain white of the current pants does nothing to balance or complement the red helmets and red jerseys. The pants should be gold so they match the numbers on the jersey.

The design of the individual elements in the present uniforms are fine; they are just used together incorrectly and suffer from the lack of gold pants to round out the home uniform.

The road uniforms are much better, though, in whatever mixture (e.g., C/W/W, C/W/C, W/W/W, etc.).

Our cardinal and gold together with nothing to break them up is a bad look. It's why we've had a lot of jersey issues, you know, other than all the losing. If you add just a little white to the home jerseys, it gets a lot easier to make the cardinal on gold work.

I don't mind monochromatic if there is a little gold on the pants. Otherwise, I agree that our pants do nothing to work with the rest of the jersey. The tiny I-State logo doesn't do anything.
