Your fan base is delusional. You fire coaches that win 9 games every year for the likes of Mike Reilly. That hire alone should tell you what is available to kNu. Your trash fan base throws food on players after games (Niles Paul)...and throws beer at players in Ireland. Nobody is beating down the door to work for Trev Albert, or get berated by delusional fans and even worse local media. I've lived in and around Omaha for a long time...the talk radio is the same now as it was 10, 15, and 20 years ago. You guys supposedly have top recruiting classes, but there is no rhyme or reason behind the personnel...no identity to your team. The defense looks like they are running in quick sand. It is not a destination job, and money money right now won't make respectable coaches ruin their reputation for fake sell outs.

What I know is knebraska sucks. All you really need to know about your program. Bottom of weak B1G west. You are now relegated to riding coat tails of blue bloods like ohio state and Michigan. All the other blather of recruiting this and getting that coach are meaningless and have been for 10+ years now.

The fanbase wants someone with P5 HC experience, a proven program builder and winner at the P5 level. You know, a coach befitting a blue blood program.

I doubt they get much interest from anyone with any single one of those qualifications. I doubt they could get one of the top 2/3 hot assistant coaching names of they year.

They’re going to have to roll the dice on assistant coaches, G5/FCS head coaches or P5 retreads until they find the right guy.

I don’t see why every crappy big ten program won’t do this now that they have nearly unlimited cash. I expect the teams with built in disadvantages like Nebraska to always be paying several huge contracts to several head coaches.
