I’m not sure what youve been watching , but your arguments are simply factually wrong. And I am comparing just freshman versions. Why did you focus solely on number of catches and ignore yards and TDs? Or big plays? I can tell you why - because Jones had many of those. Yea, even as a freshman. And Noel did not.
To date, Noel is the king of 6 catches for 25 yards. 7 for 33. Etc. He has a ton of potential and I like his chances, but to date he has not yet established himself as a good Big 12 WR. I think it’s coming, but he’s behind Jones to this point in their careers. He’s certainly not ahead of him, which is why I responded to that incorrect statement in your post.

Me thinks you are suffering from a case of recency bias, or else you are just seeing Noel’s potential instead or what he is delivering on the field.
Noel has clearly established himself as a Big XII receiver.

To say that my arguments are factually wrong is just plain buck stupid. Because facts literally cannot be factually wrong.

Again, I said “in some ways”. I then stated exactly, precisely what those ways were. I find it unfortunate that you are unable to process that.

I’ll type slowly this time, so that maybe you can understand.

I.

Did not.

Say.

That Noel is a better player.

Overall.

There. Did that help?

I don’t know how else to get through your stubborn insistence that I’m saying something that I’m not. Especially when it wasn’t the freaking point I was trying to make in the first place.
I’ll have to disagree with your interpretation of the facts then. You said that Noel had already surpassed Jones as a slot receiver in some ways. I don’t believe the fact you quoted (2 more catches) indicates that he has surpassed Jones, given that Jones had more yards, more TDs, and was an honorable mention freshman All American WR. In fact he had 6 more TDs and about 400 more yards. Not even close statistically. I think the overall body of work from Jones was better. A very generous interpretation could call them equal, but no objective evaluation would say he surpassed him. I won’t even get into the eye test since it’s subjective, but Jones was more impressive by that as well, to me at least.

Sorry for the snarky reply, but that’s what you get when your first response to other fans disagreeing with you is to claim they don’t watch the game and they can’t read.

I agree, he’s a Big 12 WR. But I said he has not yet established himself as a good Big 12 WR yet, i.e. at least moderately above average compared to other Big 12 WRs. He has yet to do that. Hopefully this is the year. I think so. But it hasn’t happened to date yet, production wise.

This is just stupid. He is a good Big XII receiver. He started as a true Frosh and pushed the competition to Texas. He put up good numbers last year. He was good Saturday. He’s a main piece of a good Big XII offense. He’s good.

Testifying
Weak attempt Scates. Glad he moved on. It got really old watching him miss out on every deep shot to him.
Campbell mentioned Joe during a charity event a month or so back. To put it blunt, CMC said it was time to move on.

X is the only WR we have who has proven on the field that he is an above average Big 12 player.

Noel has less than 300 yards and 0 TDs in his career, in 13 games. That does not make him a good Big 12 WR. He did not put up good numbers last year - he had 260 yards last year.

That game yesterday you were bragging about? He had 4 yards per catch on 6 catches against an FCS team from freaking Perryville MO.

I think he can be a good piece but the numbers speak for themselves - he still needs to prove it on the field at the B 12 level. I’d love it to happen this week.

I’ve never seen a WR who we threw so many 50/50 balls to, who caught so few of them.

Huh? In what ways has Noel passed Deshaunte Jones already? Certainly not in any way on the football field.

Milton was also clearly a step down from Jones.
Yeah, in no way has Noel surpassed Jones. He might have more raw talent, but it is mostly unrealized at this point. Jones did it from pretty much his first game at ISU as a TRFR and kept it up for 4 years.

Milton was an outside receiver in an inside receiver's body. He was never the answer at M.

Interesting. This is a nod to the recruiting being much better under Campbell when so many players go elsewhere and put up some stats. Seemed that under Rhoads, most guy that left were never heard from again. I could be way off on that though.

Re-al Mitchell isn't even starting at San Diego. In 2 games, he is 4 of 5 passing for 60 yards and 3 TDs. He has 11 carries for 53 yards.

Hayes Gibson has played in 1 of Blinn's 3 games. His passing numbers are 3-9 for 43 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT. He has 5 carries for 32 yards and a long of 58 (?).

Through 2 games, Jaquan Amos leads Ball State in tackles with 16. He has 3 tackles for loss, a pass break up, and a QB hurry.

D.J. Miller has 7 tackles in 2 games for Kent State, as well as having 2 pass break ups.

Harsin getting fired reminded me of Craig McDonald's transfer. As best I can tell he hasn't registered a single stat, but I don't see any mention of him being hurt. Is he just that far buried on their depth chart?
