If this has been posted than I apologize but with the new playoff format it would be a lot easier to make it into said playoffs out of the BIGXII with ISU than the BIG out of Nebraska..

Don’t believe for a minute there are multiple sources for any candidate, let alone CMC. That doesn’t mean there couldn’t or wouldn’t be interest, but that’s way too premature to have sources on yet.

What if Mickey Joseph rights the ship a bit? He's got a 9 game interview and if there's progress is he the guy?

One doesn’t just win the 6th grade softball championship and then just up and leave. It’s not the way he operates. Not stressed at all about him leaving. He’ll be coaching his daughter at Gilbert in softball next year and coaching Iowa State football as well.
Same could be said about a lot of coaches who up and leave. None of us know these people personally. These people are like car salesman. Nothing surprises me.

Hear me out:

Coach with midwestern ties.
A better record against big 10 teams than Scott Frost
Undefeated in Lincoln, NE as a head coach
Sources say "Iowa State coach has interest in the Nebraska job".

I am So Proud to introduce you to the next head coach of the Nebraska Cornhuskers:

Bingo.
Can you imagine the hate spew for a 7 and 6 season ... when expectations that year were for basically a national title at Nebby with all the kids coming back.
At the Creighton game across the street, I had a decent talk with a Husker fan from Omaha, a guy about mid 30s early 40s. We took turns crapping on Iowa. Then, with a straight face he tells me NU will never settle for 9-3 or even 10-2 because NU deserves to compete for championships every year. True story.

It honestly gave me the instant feeling that maybe tavernhoks aren't so bad after all...

Is mediocre still bowl eligible? ISU was 7-6 last year and sign me up for that with occasionally better for a long long time.
I think if he had 3 straight 7-6 seasons his stock would go down a little. If he went 7-6, 4-8, 5-7 he probably isn't on someone like PSU, OSU, or like Notre Dame's list anymore. At least at the top of it anyway.

I say this with 100% seriousness, but…..they could do worse. Someone with the passion of Rhoads as head coach at a school that can afford really good assistants…..they could do worse.
