I say this with 100% seriousness, but…..they could do worse. Someone with the passion of Rhoads as head coach at a school that can afford really good assistants…..they could do worse.
I hadn't thought about the $ for good assistants angle, but when that photo was posted I had the same thought as you about sincere, likeable passion being a good fit for that program. However, NU thinks they are too good for CPR.

Dennis Dodd has a big job and likely some decent sources, but keep in mind that he's also a complete Mizzou troll who has it out for the B12. Now that they've secured their spot in the SEC lifeboat, he has no problem raining fire on KU, K-State, ISU, etc.
Not to mention the fact that Dodd has this weird obsession with reporting how Campbell will leave ISU after this or that season, yada, yada, yada.

I think for 3 straight years, one of his pre-season prognostications was that CMC would be coaching in the B1G the following year.

What's really annoying is how this has become the one thing that the national sports media wants to talk about regarding ISU football. This and not all the great things going on currently in the program.

Then someone like Keith Murphy starts in, and pretty soon you worry it'll be the dominant thing written and talked about regardless of how good the season goes.

The local writers in the state would never do that with Iowa during the season if they had a hot coaching commodity.

USC and FSU are a different culture, sure, but I don't think Tennessee is all that different than Nebby.
It's way different. The big 10 only has one juggernaut. The SEC has Georgia, LSU, and Bama and is way tougher top to bottom so Tennessee is a way tougher rebuild IMO. I also think CMC want to coach in the Big 10.where he already knows he can recruit. He could get even better players from like Ohio to go to Nebraska.

Not even. If the Big Ten gets rid of divisions as is expected and just goes top two, the conference championship is going to every year be Ohio State and then a rotation of Michigan, USC and occasionally Penn State (and Oregon if they join). Nebraska will never sniff a conference championship again.
On a related note, CMC’s chances to make the college football playoffs are significantly better at ISU than NU. OSU, UMich, PennSt, USC and even Wisky will be in the CFP pecking order above NU.

Lemme guess, because he wouldn't hurt ISU like that? These people are ******* conmen essentially. You haven't figured this out yet?
Let me just say on behalf of everyone on this site, thank you for enlightening us all. I know we all appreciate a jaded pessimist that can see every angle and reason bad things can happen, claim that they will happen, and they have this perspective because they live in the “real world.”

Campbell absolutely *could* leave this year. But if he does I sure as hell am not going to go back and say “Damn, that deadeyededric was right. Shoulda listened when they said he was gone. I might have been prepared for this moment better. Oh well. On to hiring the next conman I guess.”

What if Mickey Joseph rights the ship a bit? He's got a 9 game interview and if there's progress is he the guy?

One of their forums was saying that same thing. Most of that board was saying he needs to fire a coach named Chin(?)

Eh....I could see Matt going to any big ten school really, with the exception of Nebraska and Iowa. Honestly I think any school other than those two I would be worried.
Northwestern? Minnesota? Michigan State? C'mon man.

Michigan, Ohio State, maybe Penn State.

Probably Chinander (looked it up).

Defensive coordinator.

Yeah they might want to make a change there, haha.

CMC has turned away 4* recruits because the players on the team said they weren’t a fit for the culture at Iowa State during their visit. You think Nebraska boosters would be ok with that?

So the new big 12 will have lesser football than the B1G?

Or if he lets them know that going 8-5 is being the best version of ourselves that we can be. They would come after him with pitchforks.

Y'all need to calm the hell down. If he turned down NFL jobs why are you guys getting worked up about a Nebraska dumpster fire coaching job? Get a grip.

Meltdown season is every season, all season this year.
