Certainly ONE Iowa State Football coach is interested in the Nebraska job. Now it wouldn't be his dream job, but he would be so proud to lead that team. And as everyone says, recruiting to Nebraska would be easier than recruiting to Ames. Baby steps Nebby. You've fallen a long way and you don't even know it.

I think Walden is too old (he was an assistant to Devaney at UNL when they won Natty's in '70 and '71).

Not exactly sure.
Well, thinking about Campbells half time speech, this nebraska stuff may be true. Matt said he came here to win championships, didn't say which ones specifically.

Gruden would be a mess. Hasn't he been 100% pro?

Maybe that was the point I suppose :p

If they truly didn't have a deal and paid out that full buyout, they are seriously not good at the job.

its gonna take 10 million/year to get a huge hire for them... but who is it gonna be..

zac taylor isn't leaving the beagles.

the fans would lose their **** for CMC at that price...

urban meyer? idk if he'd come back.

tom herman would be a trainwreck.

mark stoops? i dont think he'd leave UK

bob stoops aint coming back. too old. would end poorly.

i just dont think their are a lot of good options.

the boat guy from minnesota? he'd 10000% take it. and that would be hillarious
I think MN would match almost any offer to Boat Guy. Most don't realize it but Glen Mason was one of the very highest paid coaches in college football when he was there.

Gruden? With his documented past? Wow!

Our stadium has Honor Before Victory at the player entrance.

I don't believe Nebraska has the same. I could be wrong, but tradition tells me NU is kind of a win at all costs operation.

Frost learned that firsthand with Phillips ready to bust heads. Relied too much on a fake national championship I guess.

Frost to ISU! A man of INTEGRITY!

Ultimately, what Nebraska will likely do is go for someone whose a "big" name and a "win now" guy. I don't know if I see them being smart enough to hire a real program creator, although since Trev's job is probably tied to this one IDK
Nebraska overreacts to every hiring. This one will be a defensive coach with pro experience. He will be an outsider but only so much of an outsider (Suh and the boosters have to approve). Honestly, the interim head coach's brother, Vance Joseph, is about perfect. He's the D-Coordinator of the Cardinals, head coached the Broncos and coached Suh for a year.

Do you guys really think the reigning Gilbert 6th grade girls softball coach is going to leave after a championship season and go try to rebuild the Lincoln 6th grade girls softball team into a champion? Hell no he's about get a dynasty going for Gilberrt 6th grade softball.

Doesn't he seem like a guy who gets a hell of a lot of enjoyment no matter what game or who he's coaching?

I'm guessing he enjoyed the hell out of that big win

Mike Riley sure oozes the win at all costs aura.

This is part of the downward spiral that Nebraska is in. Their media took over the power from the AD a while ago.

Now the AD is constantly chasing the medias (and by proxy the fans) insane delusions.
Boosters too. I'd imagine Frost getting fired now was booster driven with demands and threats being made to the AD.

And of course that 15MM buyout's probably being picked up by said booster(s). What a waste of money.

Alex Grinch actually makes sense. He was potentially in the running at OU before Venables came over. One of the better coordinators, but would NU fans accept that?

I think the sign at the player entrance at Nebraska says "Snitches get stitches".
