At the same time football in the 80s goes to 3 bowls by today's standards.

2011 we started 3-0. I only included years we started 4-0 or better.

Let's just quietly agree that we haven't been consistent Top 30 programs in either for the past 100+ years. Certainly we've been much better the past 20 years and frankly that's all that matters. Being 40, I couldn't care less about 1900.

In the era of instant gratification I'd guess ISU is more known for football than basketball since it's been largely consistently successful the last 5 years.

The second half of 1980 was brutal. I realize most of you weren't alive yet.

That was 2002... lost to FSU in game 1, then won 6 in a row to start 6-1. Before the brutal finish. Ended up 7-7.
