Campbell dumped his strength guys after the ND game, I think. So I don’t buy that he wouldn’t make a change after the season.

Neither did I, and the fact that he feels the need to go out of his way to accuse the entire fanbase of something they didn't actually do after a loss is a chicken **** thing to do and a terrible look.
I don’t think we get an apology. I think we deserve one, but I don’t think we’ll get one. The more I think about this…the more ****** I get. I’ve literally, not figuratively, literally been an ISU fan and alum longer than Matt has been alive. I’ve sat through more 3-9, 4-8, even 0-10-1 seasons than I care to remember. I know many of you reading this have as well. We don’t expect national championships or Big 12 titles, just you and your players best effort(s). We’re not fair weather fans. If we were—we wouldn’t be here. So, in parting, don’t insult the ISU fans Matt. It’s a bad look—for you, your staff, the University. Show some respect, we’ve EARNED it over the years.

No, you sit down and gobble down whatever slop the coach is willing to feed you, because the football team has been performing better than they have been historically, but not even good enough to win a single conference championship.
I wasn't aware of any of this. This shouldn't happen to anyone - pro, college, or otherwise. I have no issues with Campbell defending Gilbert and calling out bad behavior. That doesn't change my opinion that it's really abominable to go after the entire fan base for behavior that 99.9% of them did not participate in and would condemn.
Exactly. It's really unfortunate that there are a small number of people who can't act civil and respect boundaries, but that does not constitue the entire fanbase. It was a really dumb comment to make to try and deflect criticism from himself. Sad really.
I disagree with that. We all have our days and say things we regret. Someone said it earlier, Matt is still a young coach who up to now has had good success. Now some adversity comes his way and he is not sure how to handle it. Let's see what he says Monday or Tuesday.
I still feel Matt needs to be more honest and direct with the fanbase about the direction of the team and the offense. Some honesty to us will go a long way. He swung and missed at an 87 mph hanger today, in the pressroom. He hasn't struck out and the game ain't over.
We all want Manning gone (I think he’s the worst in any P5 conference), but he isn’t leaving this year. Unfortunately I see us going winless with him in conference this year.
Blaming the Fans is not cool. Intentionally or not. My guess is he was just sticking up for his player and not throwing daggers at the fan base. That being said, ANYTHING is better than the Walden years I sat through including the 0-10-1 debacle in 1994.

For the first time his back is against the wall. It’s concerning to say the least that he immediately goes to work burning up the good will of an excessively patient fan base.
I take it as a behind-the-curtain Oz style quote that, to him (and presumably his staff) it’s more about proving somebody - ANYBODY - wrong, than doing what you have to do to win football games. And that’s NOT what big money athletics is about. It’s clear to me that the man coaches more on vendetta than strategy.
This quote pisses me off more than any of the dickless, unacceptable ********* playcalling we’ve seen mid-game.
