As a manager of a business, when something doesn’t work do you drill that person in public, a manager does not. This is what is happening.
Could you rephrase or explain that a bit? I'm sure you have good insight. I'm just not following your point.

Who cares about Iowa?

ISU's offense is horrible and it's losing them games. Part of those win predictions likely meant getting 2/3 from KSU, KU and BU. There's maybe two more wins on the schedule but even that will require them to play really well.

Getting to start two drives at midfield in the last few minutes was a chance to at least get to field goal range and the inability to even push for a first down was incredible.
Maybe our receivers not named X should actually step up and try to make a play then. I don't remember who it was but somebody dropped a 3rd down conversion on that last drive that stalled over by the ISU sideline.

Up until we beat Iowa, you all were talking about how unacceptable it was not to beat them.

Some of you also need to admit that Kansas is good this year. They aren't the best team in the Big 12 but they are a bowl team. So we lost to a bowl team on the road, get over it.
Again, quote people.
Who is saying Kansas isn't good?

Not exactly sure.
Since when is K-State on of the easier wins every year? You know as well as I do ever year it comes down to a few plays here and there to win the game.

Guess you can’t read. I never said every year, but this year Kstate at home is one of our easier games. They have an offense that is very stoppable, which is what we did. Our O just kept crapping the bed.

Dekkers has too much power on the ball when he is accurate. We struggle or don’t want to...it seems..throw downfield in between the hashes. Receivers not named X aren’t getting open.

Running backs are struggling.

Dekkers seems very static in the pocket. Purdy was able to make plays on his feet and use that pump fake to fool people many times.

I was hoping Dekkers would be like a power runner kinda like Klein was, not afraid to run it with his big body.

People are calling for CMC to blame players and coaches. He won’t and shouldn’t. It will lose any chance of improvement if he does. I hope he is addressing those issues with the individual appropriately, but pointing fingers in public is wrong and something he won’t do. Firing an assistant now won’t help most likely.

Maybe part of our weakness is that teams don't respect our running game, so it makes it more difficult for receivers to get open?

I do think it seems like Dekkers could be an effective runner, so maybe there could be a little midseason overhaul to the offense to make it more like K-State when they had Klein at QB? (i.e. more QB designed runs to keep the defense honest)

The odd thing about what Campbell said is that an 8 yr old DID respond, but the grown men paid a lot of money (sans Heacock) did NOT- they were out coached again! Weird.

Who do you think ISU can beat left on the schedule?

I have the feeling most of you have not seen there presser. Go back and watch it. Matt says the coach's can and should do better. He's not going to call individuals out after a loss and no good leader should.

That being said, the comment about the fan base should also of not been said.

Quite frankly, I don't care if Kansas or K-State are any good. They might be, I don't think they are, but they might be.

Both games are wins if the offense puts up a reasonable amount of points. Iowa State's offense has not been good enough in far too many spots under Manning, and we're seeing what results based thinking leads to. He got away with it because Heacock and NFL skill position players did just enough, and now we don't have a future NFL workhorse back to gloss over a predictable and uncreative scheme.

Ask yourself how many times in Iowa State losses under Campbell it's been because the defense wasn't good enough vs. the offense not being good enough.

I was mad last night and woke up this morning realizing I had reacted to a quote I read online, but had not seen/heard myself for full context. So I watched the video. Here is the relevant clip with a couple of quotes that people seized on last night.

When that "winners do lose, but losers hide" quote hit Twitter last night, a of people (including me) seized on that as some kind of defiance or denial on Campbell's part, and watching the video I no longer think that. He was just repeating what he told the team, in classic Campbell-speak. Now as a fan, I think that stuff starts to ring hollow after awhile when the same issues crop up game after game after game, but I also understand there's probably nothing he's going to say in a postgame presser that's going to satisfy people.

His comment attacking the fan base, however, is just as bad as it read in print. He was actually talking about the positives of last night and then pivots to "our fan base, unfortunately, tried to fry an 18 year old kicker last week" as if the fan base was the central adversity this kid overcame and not his own misfires from the previous game or the crappy situations his coaches put him in in the first place.

It sounds like Gilbert did get a little targeted abuse, which should not happen. But I wish Campbell had been more specific in calling that behavior out instead of tarring the entire fan base with this. I hope he clarifies that in coming days.
