So were going to stop going to games? were going to question his loyalty? What? F**k the fans that went after an 18 yr old when in reality they should of questioned campbell. But if were going to sit here and question this man maybe we should try and remember what life was like before he got here.

This is the problem. Was it actually all ISU “fans”? How do we know for sure? A head coach, or any leader should be blocking out that noise publicly at all costs, while handling it internally with the team/program, not fomenting it.

I miss those kind of endearing quotes from Campbell. Pot shots at the fan base and equating a successful season to how together the team is while we piss away the most talented team in Iowa State history has really started to jade me
So you only like Campbell if he gushes over the fan base?Sounds like a participation trophy kind of attitude.

IMO Campbell has been at ISU long enough and has won enough to be critical of the fan base if he sees an issue.

Awful easy to be a Monday morning QB. Message boards are great, but they also provide a forum where fans think they are Stephen A Smith. Football can be just like life, sometimes the right decision turns out bad.

same boat I'm in. Who effing cares where we were...we aren't there...and the expectations are now different. The fact is, CMC is a highly paid college football coach. He is expected to win games as the coach.

I love our fanbase but we're sometimes more enamored with the people that we really don't know than we are with those same peoples objectives.

Clearly you didnt go to Memphis in 2012 to sit in the rain and watch us get blown out by a team we already beat that year. We had 25k fans there because we were that excited to be in a bowl game...If we go 6-6 this year and go back to the liberty bowl I bet we dont have 15k people there.

CMC is in a new spot, I think. He's changed the culture...which is entirely different from X's and O's, IMO. The new change is the football part of the change and that means he has to make some tough decisions with grown men who don't need to be told to be the best versions of themselves.

Speaking from experience, (albeit at a less exposed position) managing adults, some of whom are older than you...more experienced than you, can be difficult at first. Totally different to sit across from Manning and can him than it is to tell an 18 year old anything.

I would imagine CMC is spending some quality time reflecting on his words since these comments were made...and I'll bet Pollard will help him through some of this. He needs to...CMC is still young...he's no Sabin.
Yeah, I don't think he had any ill intent with those words but they just came out wrong and it's fair for fans to not appreciate that comment.

He's got a better winning percentage than any ISU coach in the last century, so he must win some games.

I get that and all but I've been a season ticket holder since 2005 and have sat through some really miserable games/seasons. I will never forget how things used to be.

People pulled the same crap with Prohm here too on his death bed. That one was far more absurd

Id say scoring more than one touchdown in two games (one of which against a poor defense) is a reasonable expectation.
That's definitely the first time I've heard someone say they don't care about winning and that they just want touchdowns. Kudos for honesty, I agree, I wish we scored more touchdowns the last 2 games but I wish even more that we won.

Shockingly unknown to the casual observer, scoring touchdowns tends to correlate with winning games, especially when your defense prevents the other team from scoring touchdowns.

Based on this professional analysis, I recommend trying to score more touchdowns. That would seem to be the correct move.
