The consensus vote went 3-0 to start the year and is now on a 0-3 slide to bring us to 3-3 against the spread on the season.

Consensus was KSU would cover last week?

Edit: I checked and it was.

I'm not sure how many conference games we have lost by 15+ with Campbell but it can't be many.

Beat the spread; lose the game :(

This has a tempting parlay: ISU to cover, TX to win, and the under.

I think this will be the worst loss of the season. I think Ewers puts on a show and the offense struggles yet again.

Campbell has only lost 6 games by 15 or more points at ISU: 2020 UL, 2019 ND, and 2016 Iowa, WVU, Texas, and TCU. So none in conference since 2016, and not more than 1 per season since 2016.

Texas could cover, but I'm taking ISU as a "cover on paper." Defense keeps it tight as usual, offense does well between the 30s but can't produce TDs, Texas pushes enough to get up 20-6 or such in the 3rd then plays safe on D in fourth to protect, ISU produces a couple of late scores to make it seem closer ... 27-17.

I love the combination. It's like "bottom feeder, near bottom feeder, Oklahoma" all together.

Unfortunately, I think Texas covers. We beat Texas last year, and my guess is they remember and want to make a statement. I do think our offense scores a touchdown this game, though.

That is quite an achievement. Perhaps since we don't have the "tie" column anymore we could add a "close loss" column to the record as "CL". If you lose by 10 or fewer points it counts as a "CL".

Look how different the last three seasons are with this record system (W-L-CL):
2019: 7-1-5
2020: 9-1-2
2021: 7-0-6!!!!<<<<<<<Incredible, makes this season look like an astounding success.

Of course, we have to go back and mark other close loses from other seasons:
(W-L-T-CL)
1984: 2-4-2-3<<<<<<Look how this makes Jim Criner look. One of those CLs was at home to Oklahoma by a score of 12-10. I remember Cyclone fans in the 80s telling me how "amazing" it was to "almost" defeat Oklahoma. Go watch the remarkable offense in that game.

On second thought, don't watch it as it is very painful unless you desire to torment yourself.
