Nothing. We live at the end of a private lane out in the country. No street lights, long, tree-lined driveway...and until recently, no kids on the lane. There are now three little boys in the first house, but their parents drive them into town to trick or treat with their school friends.

When we lived in town way back when, we were on the edge of town. All of the rural kids would come to the first 2-3 streets in town to trick or treat. It was a slow year if we only had 100 kids.

My ****** Packers play the Bills so gives me an excuse to keep the lights off. The Mrs takes the kids out for treating due to my allergies (environmental and human).

Nothing. Learned that a few bags of candy does not last long when you live in the DM metro area. See kids that you've never seen before come out of nowhere. I'll take my kids out for a bit in our neighborhood but that's about it.

That being said I grew up in a rural area so trick or treating was just going a few miles to neighbors mostly. Best stop was our neighbors down the road, 2 older guys that were brothers that farmed together. They gave the neighborhood kids a full sized candy bar and a glass bottle of Coke or Pepsi. They just enjoyed talking with you for a few minutes to hear how school was going or whatever else was on your mind. When they retired they sold the farm and bought a house in town and they kept that tradition going as had friends that lived down the block from them who said they were the best stop too.

Full size reeses pb cups, twix, m&ms and snickers until we run out. We'll also have sour patch kids, blow pops, nerds and a few other nut-free options.

Kids won't make it out of our driveway without a cavity.
