Valley's got some great athletes in the programs, a lot of them are just underclassmen. Their defense was stellar this year. I think they'll do really well in basketball too. They still do really well in the lesser covered sports and always have a solid wrestling program.
You're definitely right that the talent pool is much more spread out now.

Did Bettendorf get a 2nd high school recently? I feel like I haven't heard of Pleasant Valley until this year.

No, Pleasant Valley has always been there it's just they have had an increase in enrollment due to housing developments in that area of Bettendorf and their athletic programs have gotten better.

Pretty unreal how top eastern Iowa teams rack up nice records and then fold against even mediocre DSM area teams. I swear Kennedy thinks they're going to win it every year and then gets beat the first time they play a central Iowa team.
