It’s bad when Walter’s calls a play like it going the distance but it’s an 8yd pass over the middle.
Defense is great, offense sucks.
Now Campbell is calling this a “rebuild”- for the 3rd time. Four losses in a row and this game was just dysfunctional on offense. There is cause for concern. OL still awful, no running game, Dekkers keeps throwing int’s special teams another big error.

Rebuild. Collapse. Potato. Potahto.

Well...

Campbell continues toward continuing the Walden/McCarney/Chizik/Rhoads tradition of at least one season not winning any conference games.

Or the McCarney/Chizik/Rhoads tradition of at least one season losing all conference games.

It's sadly looking like this could happen...

No.........the offensive line is just that bad. I'm beginning to be of the line of thinking that the O line has never really been good under CMC. Just had NFL RB's to make it look better.
He's always had NFL RBs carry him. Hunt, Montgomery, Hall. This is what it looks like when you have no one to carry you to a win.

Look, we're never going to be top 25 in recruiting or maybe even top 35. We're a development program who has amazingly, failed to develop any players on offense the last 3-4 years. Maybe Jaylin Noel. Name another young offensive player whose being apparently developed.
We really do seem to have the worst skill position players in the Big 12. Really only throw to 2 guys and have no quality RBs currently, maybe they're just dinged up, maybe it's the blocking scheme, not sure but they all look bad to the naked eye

Everyone on the offensive staff from recruiting to development needs to go. EVERYONE. We apparently can't recruit on offense since even at positions we struggle at (OL, etc) we have no one who can rotate in to see if they can provide something.

We play zero young receivers other than Noel - which is usually a position group you can play a lot of guys at.

And then of course there is the scheme and play calling. We have seemingly wasted those bowl seasons and a Fiesta bowl win by apparently not developing anyone on offense or recruiting well enough on offense.

Defensively somehow we do a better job and thank goodness for that. But as good as the people who identify and recruit kids for defense are - the ones who do it for offense are just as bad.

-------------

We are a 3-9 football team and there's not a ton of hope IMO for next year because the best performers / talented players are all seniors. Once Rus, X, AJ, McDonald leave - uh.. IDK. Why would we be better? That's the question that is haunting me.

He's not good at player development I'm afraid.
Since the embarrassing loss to Notre Dame I would posit CMC is a con man whose smoke and mirrors and talk of “margin” winning is hopefully wearing thin with a few more fans this year.

Scary to think of basically the same offense next year minus X.

What is even more terrifying is that without this defense.

There is a fairly good chance this team doesn't win a conference game this year.

Accomplishing that with this current defense just shows everyone the lack of talent from the players on up to the booth ISU has on that side of the ball.

I have said more than once that David and Breece masked the oline issue. Now we don’t have an elite RB and it shows how bad the line is. How many starts or games has this veteran online played? That goes to show there is no development on the oline and that as you know that is coaching.

He's not bad. Not elite like KF and his staff were the first 15 years in Iowa City, but he's adequate. Horrible with OL and WR development, but decent on the defensive side. Really good at RB and I think TE even though this year's groups are leaving a bit to be desired
