As bad as the O was again, the signs of just being undisciplined are red flags.

That blown coverage for OU's 2nd TD along with some poor effort on D were too.

I didn't think his Toledo team we played looked disciplines either. We preach margins but I've never felt his ISU teams were very disciplined either. It is a fine strategy, but we don't really show any signs of being able to execute it.

I feel like a broken record but I’ll say it again— if you want to call this a rebuild, fine. But you can’t say that without acknowledging that last year was an abject failure.

The announcers at the end of the game said that CMC told them that ISU was in it's 3rd rebuild right now.... that can't be true, right?

You shouldn't have 3 rebuilds in 7 years.

I AGREE Hunter Dekkers WILL NEVER TAKE US TO A BOWL GAME...WAY TOO MANY INTERCEPTIONS & POOR DECISION MAKING!!
He’s definitely not the guy and they need to use the remaining games to see if they have one in system. Give Becht and Cook the reps and if not get a transfer and hope Kohl is the future.

Iirc in the MAC title game in 2015 a Toledo player was running next to an opponent and for no reason head butted them hard enough to knock them out.

A coach can't be every where and can't control every response in the moment but there are things that can be implemented in the program that you stand for to help prevent that kind of thing.

There have been other things that were glossed over with ISU being decent consistently.

An organization (team) is perfectly designed to get the results they are currently getting. Nothing changes, if nothing changes. Looking at you, CMC. Conversation with Tom Manning? Attention to special teams? See any patterns of results?

CMC needs to break out his favorite black uniforms for the rest of the season

We‘ve historically been a bad program and we’re just regressing to our mean. I’m surprised by how quickly that regression has come. It was nice for awhile not being the conference bottom feeder…

There are so many challenges to build a solid program, especially in today’s climate. If you’re not a program that has natural advantages, then catching lightning in a bottle with an amazing coaching hire all there is (e.g., Synder). CMC isn’t that. He‘s better than our average. That’s a pretty low bar though.

Tailgates are fun though, so there’s that.

The problem is that style worked during the past 20 years. I don’t think it will anymore. We are too late to the party.
I hear ya, but honestly just having a QB than can process routes / check downs/tucks is most of our issue. Jeffy Woody does a great job breaking this stuff down. as bad as officiating is, the play calling is, we are missing wide open options.

The sad thing is we don't really need much more offense.
each game we are missing crucial reads that would probably translate to 14+ more points. not to mention just special team issues.

so frustrating. now I get to watch Iowa beat some lame team and sneak into a bowl game by beating nobody.
