I hate to say it, but Campbell was completely out coached today.

We've not been good coming out of the bye week in his tenure.

OU had a solid game plan. Ours was a real head scratcher vs a really bad defense. And again, 2 weeks to prepare.

I love Matt Campbell but he’s been outcoached it every P5 game this year except the maybe Texas. Last year mostly too.

Beat OU in '17 albeit with a 'surprise' with the introduction to the cloud/3 man.
Never forget that one for sure. But overall out of the bye we've been pretty average.

Although I will say it always seems we get our bye when our offense is clicking and then the 2 week layoff seems to set us back in that regard.

This season and last are concerning because in a lot of ways we haven't played like a well coached team in each one. Why that is isn't clear to me at this point.

But it's not just "in the margins," IMO. When we continually make mistakes in certain areas, that's not the margins, it's just overall bad play.

Well...

Campbell continues toward continuing the Walden/McCarney/Chizik/Rhoads tradition of at least one season not winning any conference games.

Or the McCarney/Chizik/Rhoads tradition of at least one season losing all conference games.

It's sadly looking like this could happen...
It better not 'cause if it does, we lose all forward momentum in the program.

And as charismatic as Campbell is, an o-fer in conference play in year 7 would make recruiting next year really tough I would think.

Probably could hurt ticket sales and possibly upcoming Cytown interest

I still think Campbell is a solid coach and I'm not giving up on him yet. However, we are getting to the point where he's bordlerine gaslighting us with the "win in the margins" crap. Every year it's the exact same stuff and we look like a low IQ football team.

My first moment of doubt was the comments he made last year in November, about the team's goals not being the number of wins they achieved or something like that. I'm still on board but I'm starting to waiver a bit. Need to see how he handles this offseason

Those teams also have better Olines and generally better specialists all around.
KU is also hanging points on everyone with a backup QB and backup RB. Tell me how much better the KU talent is than ours.

I don't recall seeing KSU with a bunch of highly rated classes either. Their starting QB was a disaster at Nebby.

We don't have a talent issue. This is scheme and coaching.

As bad as the O was again, the signs of just being undisciplined are red flags.

That blown coverage for OU's 2nd TD along with some poor effort on D were too.
Yeah....I will give the defense a pass for some slip ups. That group doesn't deserve the **** sandwich the offensive and special teams units continue trot out.

Obvious 4th down call is obvious
It’s not that the call was obvious (and my God, it was). It’s that literally NO ONE was prepared with a play or the call. Dekkers is standing there, confused, waiting for a decision, waiting for a play call.

It absolutely is a scheme and a coaching issue. For those that care to notice, the exact same issues have existed year after year after year.
