This thread is sort of a game. Post some lyrics you love or think are clever from a song, ideally not a hugely popular song everyone knows. If you know the song someone else posts, like it.

I was listening to this song last night that I had on constant repeat years ago, and was reminded how much I like it.

First lyrics:
“I kind of like the way you dot your Js
With giant circles of naïveté.”

or the chorus:
”You are a gardenia
pressed in the campaign journal
in the rucksack of an Afrikaner
candidate for mild reform.”

What are yours?

The entirety of "Hook" by Blues Traveler is very clever. The entire song is them confessing that it doesn't really take talent to write a hit song, just a "hook" to reel the listener in. All of the lyrics talk about how the lyrics are basically meaningless, and just there to keep the listener on the line.
Also how the band is disgusted with how the entire music industry is built on this farce, but it makes them money, so they just go along with it.

Rock and Roll Lifestyle, by Cake is another good one.

"Excess ain't rebellion
You're drinkin' what they're selling
Your self-destruction doesn't hurt them
Your chaos won't convert them
They're so happy to rebuild it
You'll never really kill it."

"Regret is a pill to swill that never quite goes down."
(Turn Around by David Ryan Harris)

"Those who stand for nothing never win much in the end.
Just because you don't offend them doesn't mean that they're your friends."
(Prayers by Stephen Kellogg)

Not exactly sure.
Well known but so good.

Drop dead legs, pretty smile,
Hurts my head, gets me wild
Dig that steam, giant butt,
Makes me scream, I get nuh-nuh-nothing but the shakes over you

Behind you
The ones who love us the best
Are the ones we'll lay to rest
And visit their graves on holidays at best
But the ones who love us the least
Are the ones we'll die to please
If it's any consolation, I don't begin to understand

Not exactly sure.
For those who drank too much.

woke up this morning
With my face to the wall
I said a real quick prayer
Please, dear God
When I turn around
Let her not be lying there
But I felt her bare skin next to mine
And the blood drained from my head
I tried to think what I’d say to her
And I wished that I were dead
I can’t remember her name
I’m sorry for all my lies
But I can remember her voice
And the color of her eyes

Polka City
I thought that my drinking just to get drunk was a waste of precious booze
But now I know that there's a time and there's a place to where I can choose
To walk the fine line between self-control and self-abuse

'That it is not he or she or them or it that you belong to.'

Same song:
'But even the President of the United States sometimes must have to stand naked'

Maybe the best single phonetic line ever to say out loud:

”Little old lady got mutilated late last night.”

Although, the first verse of Eminem’s “Lose Yourself” is up there.

Behind you
The dog lifts his gaze to plead
Believes the wizard has a magic stick
Leans his weight into my tweed
I give an unholy hand to lick

If the elevator tries to bring you down, go crazy.
- Prince, Let's Go Crazy

Life is too short
To put it off anymore
You've gotta live it before
It's too late

- Montgomery Gentry, While You're Still Young

Say, "F*** it!" before we kick the bucket
Life's too short to not go for broke

Beat me to it. It's genius.

Best line in there is "No matter how much Peter loved her What made the Pan refuse to grow"
