I think the typical Carver goonery will wind up working against the hawks by fueling our guys. I know I know CHA is the most hostile wrestling environment they'll ever see and so on. I just think our squad has the mentality to not only not be drastically affected but to use the environment for that extra edge. I'll admit my score prediction is bold but I truly believe we've got a bunch of dawgs who will thrive off the pressure of wrestling in places like Carver against teams like Iowa.Hope this is true. But….CHA might affect this.
SDSU pulling off some big wins. There are some insane results happening already at CKLV. Seems like that kind of year. Buckle up for a wild ride this Sunday!

I'm not trying to I promise. And I am not new by any means. Just don't post much. The great thing about this discussion is your guys actually know what you are talking about and make valid points. I can tell they actually watch wrestlingI recommend ignoring this new duke guy. The more you argue with him, the more he’ll keep derailing wrestling threads
I'd have to go back and look at every meet. But I vividly remember being disappointed. Especially at the St Louis Nationals and most duals that yearWhat are the horrible results you speak of? Can you give some examples? Go through the past. He simply lost to better wrestlers. I don’t see some kind of under performances.
Take last year out. In 2021 he only lost to 1 guy (Noah Adams) at Big 12s who was the #1 wrestler in the country at 1 point. And he pinned the Big 12 1 seed Tanner Sloan. At NCAAs he was the 21 seed and lost to the 19 and 12. He also pinned the 11. Are these what you’re calling “horrible” performances? I’d call them the opposite. They are very good over performances.
I'm derailing because I don't think we will win?I recommend ignoring this new duke guy. The more you argue with him, the more he’ll keep derailing wrestling threads
Now I do admit, 97 must not have been the weight for him and I'm truly impressed how he had been able to be so versatile with his weightI'd have to go back and look at every meet. But I vividly remember being disappointed. Especially at the St Louis Nationals and most duals that year
Wasn't overly impressed with his last day big 12s that year also. I think it was a Missouri kidWhat are the horrible results you speak of? Can you give some examples? Go through the past. He simply lost to better wrestlers. I don’t see some kind of under performances.

Still waiting for some specific examples of all the “horrible” performances in his career.Wasn't overly impressed with his last day big 12s that year also. I think it was a Missouri kid
I 100% agree I hope they make me eat my words and doing it at Carver will be even better. I bought season Iowa tickets this year to make sure I had a ticketI love the enthusiasm in this thread. I so badly want ISU to stick it to the Mouth breathers in CHA. That being said, ISU needs to step up. They have worked their way towards this... time to step up and get this done. I can't predict who will win. Hoping it's ISU.... but won't be a surprise if they don't. LFG!!!!!
That one was pretty horrible. Kent from Missouri. I don't really want to go back into two years of duals, but he went 9-6 in 2021 and 17-11 the year before. You seriously don't remember being disappointed in some of his losses against lesser ranked opponents, or opponents that he should have beaten? Watching him in high school, I truly expected what we are seeing from him right now, for three years. If you haven't seen that, you are either his dad, closely related, or wear Kool aid glasses. All three of which I am fine with. We just have a difference of opinion. I don't even know how to look up dual matches from the past. I just remember being pissed at him and colbray for two years because they were so inconsistent.Still waiting for some specific examples of all the “horrible” performances in his career.
This is a pickem no matter which way you slice it. I would put Younger -2 at Hilton, -1 neutral and pickem at carver. As everyone knows he beat him last year and yongers upward trajectory absolutely plays a part. Dude has been wrestling folkstyle for like 20 months and is getting better everydayMaybe to you and me.
Any casual fan without a dog in the fight would disagree.
this comment told me everything i need to know. If ISU football flipped the script on you but Coleman hasn’t, you clearly don’t have a clue what you’re talking about.I compare Coleman to our football team. I used to believe that we were going to lose every game. The past few I have believed we would never lose. They flipped the script on me, Coleman hasn't yet.
I like him a lot here if it goes all 3 periods. Warner doesn't have the tank he doesThis is a pickem no matter which way you slice it. I do, he had two years of letting me down. He should be flipping me though. Ten in a row last year in the middle of the season and so far this year. Was also impressed with him in the consellation bracket at Nationals last year. But if you really didn't think he would be at least a two time all American by now, then do you not know what you are talking about? I really thought he would be a three timer. Hopefully it's a two timer, but he wouldn't have had that opportunity, without COVID.this comment told me everything i need to know. Third grade insults aren't going to change my opinion either. Let me guess, you are going to take your ball and go home also, and your dad can beat up my dad. This is the ****** part of this board, if someone has a difference of an opinion, they are just an idiot or don't know what they are talking about. In all reality, it's just my opinion of watching him wrestle for 5 years and the expectation, right or wrong, I had of him coming out of high school. Again, hope he makes me eat my words. Hope he finishes top 3 at Nationals. I could also say I hope he finishes top 3 at the Big 12s though. 3rd is his best finish at the Big 12 tournament. He is way more talented than that. If he is locked in, I expect nothing less than a Big 12 title and a top 3 finish in Tulsa. Yes I think when he is at his best, he is better than Parkers bestthis comment told me everything i need to know. coming out of high school, Marcus was ranked around 70th or 80th in the class big board. It is not a reasonable expectation for someone ranked in that range to be a 3x AA, and honestly it’s a hell of an achievement for those types of kids to develop into an AA. He was a 3x Iowa High school state champ which is impressive, but it was also during a time when Iowa high school wrestling was at probably a low point. Marcus has had a very good collegiate career and has been a very different guy since the start of last yearI do, he had two years of letting me down. He should be flipping me though. 100% agree. He's been different since Jan of last yearcoming out of high school, Marcus was ranked around 70th or 80th in the class big board.
