Yeah I'm serious. I prefer our conference opponents not get more exposure that will result in them getting even better players.

It's the same reason why I didn't want Baylor or TT winning the basketball championship in the last few years.
So you dont like more money for the conference, hence more money for ISU?

Let's stay alive and relevant as a conference first, then we can move up the pecking order.

If no Big 12 teams do well, then the aholes at ESPN/FOX/et. All have good reason to short change what we have to sell. We want our conference mates to do well when they are not playing ISU.

END OF ARGUMENT.

You probably should rethink this reasoning. You realize that the TV money that keeps the ISU AD afloat is basically based on how well the conference does. In the current college sports environment, hoping for your conference to do bad is really bizzare.

It looked like the shoulder pad hit him. Skycam showed it better I thought. His helmet didn’t make contact.

Which is why I said "if." The defender can hit a player in the chest or the middle of the back, but if it's with the crown of the helmet it's still targeting.

Forcible contact with the crown of the helmet is a higher "priority" than other factors like defenseless player or contact to the head/neck area.

Lol, my team gave up 0 points in their bowl game dumfuk.
Lol. Huge bowl game win. Your offense had one 42 yard drive and your fan base is going nuts over getting the 18th ranked QB in the portal. And Brain is your OC from here on out. Good luck with that.

The only thing bizarre here is thinking there is a scenario where the tv money dries up

Herbstriet should never be allowed to call an OSU game.
I am not a Herbstriet fan, but I think he is very fair when he calls Buckeye games. He actually comes across as more knowledgeable because he knows about their ins and outs. I think your point is valid in general, but I think he is fair (and I normally do not like him).

He hit his helmet on the back of the shoulder pads directly between the shoulder blades. Right in the back of the runner. Not a defenseless player. Not to the Head or Neck. Not with excessive force, maybe lunging, but again, several metrics do not activate unless it is a defenseless player. And again it was to the middle of his shoulders not his head or neck.
For one thing, one way a ball carrier can be defenseless is if he is "in the grasp of an opponent and [his] forward progress has been stopped." I would say that could have applied on that play. Also, as someone else noted, if the defender leads with the crown of the helmet, the head and neck area and defenseless player parts of the rule aren't absolutely necessary.

We have been able to beat every Big 12 team over the years no matter how well they have done in that year's or other year's championships. No one is invincible forever.
