I’m staying at the same hotel as the NFL Film crew is in SF tonight. Was in line and around them as checked in and were settled. While I couldn’t hear much, I did hear ‘Purdy’ and a reference on filming dynamic QBs, and how much fun, yet frustrating it is. This town LOVES Purdy…. It’s wild here.

What's not to love? A great guy that gets that unfortunate title, works his way from the bottom. Then plays just awesome for long enough that it's starting to be really impressive.

How many lance fans or Jimmy G could even be left at this point?

I'm pretty sure this post is meant to be a humble brag and I applaud it.

Mr. Irrelevant should be retired. It is an unfortunate title. Even before Brock, I always thought it was a lame thing. Just get rid of it NFL Draft!

The title also makes no sense. The 49ers didn't throw a dart at a dart board with names on it... Everyone taken in the draft is relevant to the draft. Whoever coined that term or uses it should crack open a dictionary.

Even Jimmy's mom is a Purdy fan.

I don't mind it.

I like the idea of Purdy having a long career in the NFL with multiple Super Bowls but still having the nickname "Mr. Irrelevant" (like "The GOAT" for Brady).

Purdy continues to graciously smile every time a reporter mentions his Mr. Irrelevant title, but I'm guessing he's getting very tired of that unfortunate label.

It kind of reminds me of NBA all-star Jeff Honecek who I think got a little tired of the way fans and the media kept bringing up that he was a supposed walk-on at Iowa State.

Marketing, baby!

If Purdy can win a championship he can market himself as Mr Irrelevant and print money as a player and when he finally hangs it up.

Mr Irrelevant is GREAT! The underdog who made good. Who doesn't love that story and wouldn't mind having him as a paid speaker?

Definitely mixed feelings on the irrelevant thing (doesn't mean anything, really).

To think they wanted him and knew they could take him last is the CRAZY part.
