. Probably won't make it in the NBA. But, he got paid to go to Texas. Don't blame him. Was ISU going to pay him as much? Probably not.

We have 2 very different memories of this then.

I didn't care about Bolton leaving because it was such a train wreck. If Bolton had left from last year's S16 team after being a key part it would have stung. Why do some people have to pretend to be emotionless automatons?

I haven't seen people claiming we need to hope Texas wins the national championship.

But I have seen some dopes acting like ISU fans need to cheer for him which is crazy dumb.

Texas tried to destroy the Big 12. I'd probably cheer against Texas in cross country and those runners have nothing to do with that situation...just general dislike of Texas is the most normal thing right now.
Yeah I personally have no love for Texas athletics so if someone is cheering for him/them they should be called out.
But I'm also not going to be infatuated with him/them either.

I only hope if the situation is the same with no regulation, that a few years from now the players don't feel guilty about it and a need to spin kind of silly stories about why they transferred. ISU is leading all programs in NBA point guard production this year and it's not even close. It's a great place to get paid by the NBA and launch an NBA career. For getting paid while in college ISU probably will never be the top spot.

I'm sure I can find posts where people thought Rasir "didn't want to be here" when he entered the portal. Hell, maybe even me.
Yeah you're probably right but the two situations are very different in Rasir was essentially asked to leave while Tyrese left on his own. I do remember a TON of people were going ape **** on here when it got out that it wasn't Rasir's decision.

I didn't think anyone's style would become more fun than Fred's, but Otz has that happening now.

I enjoy watching ISU smother teams to dust and not go away.

That travel that Lipsey quasi-caused Tuesday just before half was the definition of the hornets' nest teams have entered when ISU has it going.

Most teams probably allow the inbounds, try to cover a bit and let the opponent shoot a long three.

Nobody knows what he was promised let alone what will actually end up in his bank account. There are stories floating around of a lot of guys not getting paid what they were told they would by this point. This should surprise absolutely no one.

ISU's top tier isn't getting what Creighton's lower tier is getting (as of the beginning of the season).
That's direct from a staff member to me.

Hopefully we crush Texas next week and Tyrese has a horrible game. I think that would go a long way in helping this fanbase get over it. If the opposite happens... Oh boy.

Oh geez especially if Lipsey struggles after he's been a key if not THE key to ISU's success.

The truth usually comes out. I know it did for Rasir.

I'm not rooting for either guy but I'm not going to "hate watch" them like I feel like some do.

Tamin reminds me of those rock-solid guards KU usually has. Just so poised.

IMO, I've brought it up once before, it may be time to consider the Chris Street #40 for him if he's at ISU in a couple years.

Im not sure why people are being so sensitive over this. We cant sports hate him? I don't think anyone is saying they want to slash his brakes or whatever.

He made a choice, was a butthole about it, and is seeing poor results over it. It aint that deep

I do find it very strange we have people here who still cheer against Hoiberg for going to an open job at a program we have nothing to do with anymore but with Tyrese if you're not coddling him like a newborn you're some sort of psycho
So now there is an acceptable term for reveling in the misfortune of others- "sport hate".

Move on, Tyrese made a decision to transfer from ISU to improve his future development. No different than you or I deciding to change jobs to advance our careers. Can't speak for you, but I know not all my life or career decisions were the right choice after the fact.

How was a Tyrese a "butthole" about his move? The only thing I saw was a Twitter back & forth with Gabe. I looked at that as innocent trash talk.

If we were still just like last year in the race to 30 or 40, this style wouldn't be a whole lot of fun.
But we're not, and the stuff you described is awfully enjoyable.

I used to always say I'd rather lose than win those 40s/50s games some programs like Virginia win with, being more of an NBA fan where the shots fall frequently it's just hard for me to watch. Last year kind of tested it, because I did enjoy most of the year a lot. The winning is still fun, but the losing really is unwatchable.

Kind of a relief this year to see we can play some good offensive basketball under Otz before we even get these next few highly ranked recruiting classes and some of these players I see being really great shooters/playmakers.

Yeah, it's gonna be pretty dynamic.
