TJ's troop is playing some of the best basketball in the country. Too bad nobody is going to see it! Tech, and upcoming games at ku, vs Texas, and at OSU are all on the tv stream that nobody watches.
I had a subscription last season to espn+. Somehow they determined I had a fake account. Every game I had to delete the app, reload it and put in my password. Otherwise it would just lock me out. Vowed they would never get another dollar from me.
This Saturday, there will be 2 games matching top 25 teams. Both will be in the Big 12. One of them features teams tied for first, in the toughest mbb conference in the usa. Should be the headline event. Where can you watch this you ask? Almost no one will see this high level game because it is on the antithesis of the "mothership". The network no one watches. The tier 3. The minus. And the big 12 certainly doesn't make any money on it.
I'll be listening to John and Eric. Again.
Rant over.

I bought + in August I think. It was reduced to $69.99 a year. A couple football games were on it. Now men's and women's basketball, a while back there was volleyball. Not a bad deal, actually, but still hate to support ESPN when they treat our conference as second-rate. I guess #1 men's basketball conference doesn't mean enough when football is king.

I dont care if the game was on ESPN with the NFL playoffs going on it doesnt make much of a difference in the number of people watching. Games like KU vs ISU mbb oon ESPN+ is an opportunity to prove the value big 12 basketball brings

People don’t understand that when you pay billions for sports rights that you get to decide where games show up on your network?

I don’t like it either but this “ESPN is the devil” conspiracy theory is dumb. They want people to sign up for ESPN+ so they are putting a game with the top two basketball fan bases on it. Not that difficult to understand.

Their app is absolute garbage, it's constantly going black on me then I have to back out and go back in. It freezes alot too or buffers. None of my other livestream apps like FoxNow does that.

Then if our game is on normal Espn channels you still cant watch the beginning of games if the first game goes top long. All that technology and i still missed 25% of the St John's game and 5 minutes of the TCU game last weekend.

If you’re an Iowa State fan and want to see Iowa State content (football, basketball, wrestling, women’s basketball, volleyball, etc), ESPN+ is a must have. It is 1000 times better than CycloneTV. Costs less, I am pretty sure, there is more content and better production value.

If you don’t care about seeing Iowa State on your TV, then don’t pick it up. I’m here to tell you though, it’s not going away because you don’t subscribe, so it’s your loss, and nobody at ESPN or the Big12 offices care.

You must not be accessing it correctly then. I’ve never missed a minute of one of our games on ESPN+. I have missed some of our games that are on the regular ESPN channels though, but not often. That only happens if ESPNNews has no room for the game to start there, which again is rare.

I live in BFE with CenturyLink as my internet provider. The only way to get internet worse for streaming is with those satellite internet providers. Do I experience buffering? I’d be lying if I said I didn’t, but it does not happen often at all, and when it does, I don’t ever miss anything, because it brings be back to the exact spot I was at when the buffering started.

If ESPN can put the NFL games on TV and ESPN Plus and have a zillion channels to watch the CFP National Championship, they can simulcast a Big 12 Now game on TV like on the available ABC.

The problem with streaming is you lose the ability to get a casual fan to watch. I realize that ESPN puts this game on plus since they think they can get the most subscribers. But is someone who doesn’t care about wirher team going to turn in? Probably not. But if they are looking for something to watch on their regular tv, they might stop at our game.

I'm old enough to remember when you had to pay like 150 bucks for ESPN Full Court to get to see a bunch of ISU games, or you literally weren't watching them at all.

You'd literally have to pay 30 bucks for ESPN+ for conference play. It's a steal compared to what we used to have to go through.

ESPN+ is fine but if our game is on ESPN like it was Saturday I missed the first 5 minutes. I don't have ESPNNews as part of my "cable provider" package so can't switch it over there.

I don't understand why you have to wait until the first game is over? I can select hundreds of other games on ESPN+ and they start on time, but they can't put a link to our game until the first game gets over?

Again, it's garbage.

I've literally never had an issue with it. I know people have, but it certainly isn't any worse than any others I've used.

There's only 1 game at a time in the playoffs, but I just noticed that our game tomorrow is up against: SF vs Seattle at 3:30pm CT.
