Based on what I'm seeing on twitter and hearing from folks in Ames still...

This has potential to be the most toxic environment in Hilton in a long time. Like more than the 2013 KU game.
Worse than the bohannon treatment last year?
If so, I've got three tickets to sell. Better keep the kids home.

Maybe, but our guys are going to be defending their asses off against him. They've shut better players down this season already.
I'd rather they defend their asses off against the longhorns that are better than Tyrese.

There's a lot to dissect here but I think it should be noted he also could have liked Prohm and wanted to play for him. Say what we want to about Prohm as a coach (he was in way over his head), but he is likeable, and was getting some talent to come to Iowa State.
There are some instances when recruits choose coaches more so than schools.

That is correct. And TJ has basically said as much in that he wasn't the initial recruiter. Would have loved to have been, but this stuff happens all the time with coaching changes.

The fact he kept him for 1 year shows great character on the part of both TJ and TH. TH could have said "thanks but no thanks".

And I guarantee if he does ISU doesn't win 22 or go to the sweet 16. And TJ knew that and why he wanted to keep him on at ISU.

A win-win.

However that has passed and now.......it's time for TJ to win and TH to lose. Nothing personal, just time for Texas to lose next week in Hilton.

Can someone clarify the implications about trashing our program and/or blowing the whistle on something?

I admittedly did not pay really careful attention to the situation, but the whole thing seemed fairly quiet. At least in terms of what was in the media.

I understand people are questioning his assertion it wasn’t about the money and debating whether that means he actually said he took no money or just “it wasn’t about that”.

But im not following the rest of the cryptic insinuations here.

Let’s give him the credit that he deserves. He is a very good defensive player.
Guy he’s guarding is leading all scorers…

EDIT: They just switched him to a guy who is 1-3 all day. Guy has no assists either, so it’s not as though he’s Jacy Holloway.

I was at the game when Haluska returned after transfering to Iowa. The crowd booed every time he touched the ball. It was pretty fun overall though since ISU torched them that day if memory serves. Ugliest environment I've ever been in was the Pierre Pierce game. I don't ever want to hear a crowd chanting "rapist" full throat at a player again. Just terrible all around.

It was true so I didn't have a problem with it. My favorite cyclone alley event was the flop when Smart went to shoot free throws.

He was worried he would have to carry the load and get too many minutes at ISU. Now he is in a limited role at UT. Wish granted.

It seemed something was up last year after Texas lost at Hilton and Beard had a rambling post-game. Things are working out this year. Hunter has reduced minutes and a limited load. He is getting paid however much. I don't blame him for that either. I just wish he had said something like, "it wasn't about the money, because I knew Texas would take care of me well."

This is so hilarious because he carried us exactly once last year (against LSU).

He was a complete non-factor tonight and looked like he wanted nothing to do with any type of aggressive move. Actually the few times he did try to attack he was stuffed or nearly lost the ball. Something is off with him.
