You know TJ really has things humming when there is a 19 page thread about the lowest rate recruit in the class not playing enough on a top 15 team.

Better than those threads about how Terrence Lewis could save us.

Not to be pedantic, but the 247 Composites for the three rank...

#1 92.66% Watson
#2 92.58% King
#3 89.54% Lipsey

Watson was ranked just above King (at least in that index).

This goes to show you how much those rankings really mean sometimes.

Lipsey is a monster playing better than most 5* recruits.

Watson isn't very skilled but he's good for an energy 5-10 minutes per night.

King isn't playing.

Jared and Blum said on the most recent podcast that TJ and the team was a little salty at the way Adams and Texas Tech didn't call off the dogs during the rout in the Big 12 tournament last year.

Hence, TJ keeping the hammer down was a bit of payback. Run up the score on us, run up the score on you. That might seem petty, but I like the mentality of "nobody ***** with us unpunished."

The '**** You' mindset without having to really talk about it is dream like stuff.

That's it. No practicing, no warming up. Nobody move.

This has to be a family member who never gets out of small town Minnesota or something.
I thought that initially, but am coming around to common troll.

A friend and I have had the same (crappy) seats for over a decade. I looked at him after whatever happened on the non-layup attempt and said, “Think that will finally end the Eli King thread?” Oops. At least the discussion has mostly shifted from the absurd (should he be playing now) to the unknowable (will he play here at some point).

In reference to the non-layup attempt comment. Those of us that have seen Eli performing know he could have stuffed it in over the two defenders if he had wanted to but instead chose to pass it off to help his teammate get a bucket. Teammate was obviously not ready for the generous pass.

This is some little league middle school 'everyone shines' November thinking.

Go ahead and name one coach that you've seen do this in an early January game with a whole bunch of things in the works like ISU has.

I'll use my own hyperbole: should a player just not play at all since they could get hurt at any time? How do you know Osun's minutes were meaningless? Are they not looking to improve? If it were a close game he could still get hurt, no?
I agree. Think about the Women's team. Did Soares get hurt in "mop up minutes?" NO! Injuries can happen at any time without warning. Injuries have happened when jumping in the air in celebration of a magnificent play. TJ and staff have proven they know how to coach and how & when to use their players. Might be better off putting that guy on ignore, imo.

Not competing with Watson. Watson is a forward. King is a point/off guard.
Except he is. King is a 2 and Watson is a 3 but the 3 guys ahead of them can pretty much play either. So they are competing for next guy off the bench minutes.

So @twincyties a month from now after Jaz returns and Watson plays mainly just the 3. if our starting 2 misses a game due to illness who's minutes increase? Watson or Eli?
