Really feel bad for Brock. Effectively knocked out of the championship game on the first drive for the 49ers. I think he showed enough while he was healthy to save his starting job.

I really question the 49ers management for knowing how bad Johnson was and not going out to get another guy as the backup when it was clear that Jimmy was not come back. How Johnson was able to bounce around the NFL for 15 years is hard to understand.

If you're in a situation as an NFL team where you need to have real plans beyond quarterback #4, it doesn't matter.

Welp - that sucked. As a Niners fan that was the most disappointed I've been since they lost to Baltimore. The early missed call, Purdy getting hurt, then the fumble late in the 1st half were all killers. The defense melting down in the 3rd/4th quarters sucked to watch.

If I never had to listen to Greg Olsen call another game, it'll be too soon. He's been oblivious to half the crap going on the entire game.

Hopefully Purdy won't require surgery.

Well, it was pretty clear that they had Brock and no one else that could play. They needed to find a backup for Purdy, not a guy that shouldn't be on the field. Hard to believe that they couldn't find someone out there that is better than Johnson.

I wanted to comment on the statement that a Philly-Cincy SB would be low rated.

Big Ben against the Seachickens would like a word.

Game was lost when clueless officiating gave the Eagles a 7 point head start right away.
Shanahan or someone had a chance to challenge that call. You could tell he didn't catch it by the way he was trying to get everyone lined up for the next play. That was a huge play in the game, because it was a 4th down and could have been the 49ers ball at midfield.

Greg Olsen kept on calling the Eagles RB Bob Sanders. He couldn’t even get the name right.

Lots of bad fir the Niners in this one, should have challenged the catch on Philly’s first drive. Pretty much didn’t have a chance once Brock went out. That’s tough.

WR was making a hand gesture that made it known to everyone on the planet he didn't catch it.
I was screaming for Shanahan to call timeout so it would be reviewed. They shouldn't have had to do that, but they blew it when they allowed the Eagles to get the next play off.

Just feel robbed of what could have been, but that's football.

Looking back, even if Brock never took another NFL snap, his career would far exceed all expectations. Looking forward to watching him (and a healthy Breece) next year.
