So here's a big question...likely may not be a good one to debate. In the losses that ISU has experienced post Soares, what do you see as the common themes that contributed to those losses? What can the team do to correct them? This isn't a coach or player bashing question so if you're tempted please refrain.

Lot's of talk about our offense being bad. While it looked out of sync at times we still scored 77 points and had five players with 9 or more points. We had been allowing only 60 points a game in league going into the game and gave up 78 to a team that had been averaging less than 65 in league play. They had only scored over 70 once in league play.

Defense, that's kind of the what. I don't know the why on the defense, not an X's and O's guy but the times our guards got beat was surprising because I don't think of KSU being that uber athletic at guard that they should be able to just blow by us so many times. This is usually something that happens more when we play Baylor or Texas. I might just be wrong and KSU really is that much faster/quicker.

I kept thinking, why are we not making them make jump shots? We If we gave them a little space up front, they wouldn't have gotten all the lay-ups. They were hitting 3's but I wanted to see if they could hit the elbow shots.

Meh I've resigned myself to another ok season, make the tourney and punch out somewhere around the round of 32 or sweet 16 depending on who the match up are. Our offense gets stagnate and that's the end of it. Sorry I'm not more enthused. Somehow if we get really lucky we could possibly make the Elite 8 but I sort of doubt it. I really don't think we are going to see major changes this late in the season.

During they radio broadcast they said (paraphrasing here) K-State's offense without Lee was 5 guards spread out with one attacking the paint. Immediately thought of Creighton.

This is how they beat Iowa as well (both Creighton and K-State). Lots of similarities between these two teams, both good and bad.

I think we have too short of a bench. Really hoping Maggie would get her swagger back. Maybe she just needs more minutes.

Sweet Sixteen is a good season. Disappointing only because with Soares we expected much more. NET is the key number now - keep that in the top sixteen and we get home court for a couple of games. Further is possible. Current NET is 12.

M&M has had lots of opportunities this year. She just isn't hitting her shots. Not sure what happened, but even when she plays more minutes she's usually still out of sync. NOW...she hit the three at the end of the KSU game (only her 8th of the season). Maybe that will magically help? She just seems to be in a bad place confidence-wise concerning her shot. Puzzling for sure. A career 45% three point shooter hitting 21% this year.

The only NET I've noticed that is just crazy out of sync with polls is Texas (and maybe Maryland in an opposite direction). Texas has been close to top 10 NET all along in spite of falling to not even receiving votes in AP poll which didn't make sense to me at all. The polls are wrong on Texas but maybe slowly correcting.

Current Big 12 NET's. It takes quite a bite to move them right now.

The young women appear to be lacking confidence - too much dribbling and not enough movement - nobody other than Ashley who wants the ball in crunch time. For the first half of the conference season Danae Fritz passed up shots and deferred to others - lately she’s been more aggressive offensively. I hope that continues to increase as she has an all-around game! Release the beast and hope Lexi and Emily regain their swagger!

Basketball alumni at the game. Fun to see who you recognize. I didn't do that great.

I figured maybe this would be the alumni game and wondered if Gradey's mom former ISU wbb would stick around for it. I think she may have as I believe she is in the center middle in the back row.

I think Brynn Williamson on the left, Kidd Blakowsky, dunno who was next to her, Stacy Freese,. I saw Brittany Lange next to Alison Lacey Otzenberger then Hailey with Pop.
Lindsay Fennelly next to Denae Stuckey.

Those are the ones I can recognize

Easy, run a motion offense. What they run doesn't work vs over playing, physical defenses like BU and UT, That is why Bill is 0-6 against them in 2022 and 2023. Bill has got the personnel to make it work. Look how the men do it:
