Last night will bode well for the guys in a few weeks.

Wrestled a good team in a hostile environment.

We’re in a good spot to send 8 of 10 guys to NCAA’s, and the 2 who aren’t in a great spot are capable (Casey and Cabanban).
It's good that now our guys can rest up and try to get healthy for B12's and Nationals in a few weeks.

I hope no one is giving up on Casey just yet (and from the comments I read, I don't think that is the case).

I was watching a replay of the CycloneTV special "100 Years of Cyclone Wrestling". There was an interview with former HC Jim Gibbons and he talked about 3 things he learned from his coach and predecessor, Harold Nichols. One of them was never give up on a struggling freshman.

Gibbons talked about how few people realize and understand the adjustment it is for some guys to go from high school to college. Home life, class load, big university, top-level wrestling program - it is a huge change for some guys and it takes time for them to complete the adjustment. Losing confidence from a coach doesn't help, so Nichols told Gibbons to always support those freshman, especially when they are struggling.

Maybe I just unintentionally made an argument for redshirting Casey, but, more importantly, I think we will see a more improved wrestler in the years to come.

It wouldn't be the first. They did it in 2012 and 2013, when there were only 4 teams. A forced double round-robin, the second year of which was a joke.
So is it a 4 way tie between ISU, OSU, Mizz, and NDSU get it since they all have 1 loss?

How did Missouri schedule have so few duals? They have barely wrestled this year. Doesn't that hurt them getting wrestlers to qualify for nationals?

Went back and watched again. Coleman and Yonger are the two that will benefit this break before Big 12's the most IMHO. Coleman with a good rest before Big12's watch out. Yonger same way.

A lot of work is going to be going into quicker with the finishes on shots. We are seeing it a bit more this past week with just simply not being able to finish. We are the aggressor in a few of these matches and taking the shots but guys are fending them off.

Was Perryman the best choice for this dual? No clue because Surtin is a pinner when he gets to rolling it's who he is. Would Caleb have had a different outcome? Nobody can say with certainty.

Paniro's review still pisses me off. Just a flat-out junk review. No review should ever take that long to end up being the original. If it's taking you that long to look at it then you are seeing something different so make the call. That is a 9-point swing in the dual.

Carr's film-studying is something a lot of our guys could use going into Big12's. Carr had an answer to all of O'Toole typical stuff, he knew what he liked and how to use it to his own advantage. Not taking anything away from David's actual wrestling because he executed his own stuff to perfection.

Sam will be an AA.

Casey showed why he HAS to be the one trying to create offense at all times. Needs to be the one taking the shots and not looking at re-attacks against a guy like Hart. Mat wrestling is still a major issue but there's no going back only foward so focus on what needs to be done.

They obviously thought Perryman gave them a better shot at winning 125. Higher ceiling but clearly a much lower floor, that one was tough. Wonder if we see Cabanban this weekend.

Any match that Casey leaves the first period tied or down, he’s in trouble. Needs major improvement in mat wrestling and it will happen, just not this year. Needs to get on a roll at Big 12’s.

Not concerned about Paniro. He was the aggressor and had a chance, just gave up in SV once he was down. Mauller should have given up stall points and everyone knows it.

I think Coleman and Yonger are both dealing with some knee injuries. Yonger hasn't been quite the same since he missed the Oklahoma dual because of a knee tweak. Coleman has had his knee pretty well taped up since the UNI dual. Additionally, I think they both cut a decent amount of weight so I am sure the last week was a bit taxing on their bodies. Give them a couple weeks to rest up and they will be fine for Big 12s

Can’t stress how difficult it is to weigh in 3 times in 5 days. And Mizzou had 10 days off to prepare for the Clones. Ironically enough, we should improve our tournament rankings with David and Schuyler moving up in the polls and not dropping at the other weights. Important for the team to get healthy and manage weight the next couple of weeks. This team is primed for a big 12 tourney title.

Think about who looked best. Sam, who obviously has no cut and David who moved up a weight. This should put an end to all of those who keep wanting everyone to suck down.

Yonger really needs to get right. Fortunately, he of all people doesn't seem like the type to take losing very well and likely will figure something out.

Mizz being fresh will be interesting to see how every team does @ big12's and nationals with multiple weigh-ins. This had to of been Dresser's game plan to finish the dual season the way we did. Get a little mini-trial so proper tweaks can be done during the most important run.

Good point. This can’t go unnoticed. 5 duals in 12 days is a grind and will pay off.
