Let’s talk point guards

I am hoping that Williams picks up the "strong guard" role that Brockington and Holmes have been; able to power to the basket and back-up Lipsey at point guard.
Lipsey has been more than I expected this year. He finishes so well driving to the basket and rebounds down better than about most any guard you will see. Over the next few years he will develop his outside shot and slay opponents ala Frank Mason at KU about five years ago...except Lipsey is three inches taller than Mason was.
Tamen is at his floor now, and his ceiling extremely high with the additional talent coming in.

What do we got next year?
Lol this is clearly an Iowa fan - go back and look at previous posts from this account.

How insecure do you have to be as an Iowa fan to create an account on Cyclone Fanatic and post a thread about one of the best freshman PGs in the nation. Meanwhile your freshman PG can barely touch the floor...

Just another example of how much of a joke the Hawks fan base is.

Doesn’t surprise me. I’ve been seeing hawk fans claim that Sandfort is better than Biliew. There’s just no possible way they actually believe that.

So what year will Williams be next season? Junior? Also, what are the chances of him being back to 100% normal next year after a ruptured achilles?

I didn’t even read all of this. No I’m not not a hawk fan. I’m seriously wondering who our pg for the future is lol. I get Tamin is a freshman… but there’s zero offense. Honestly I personally think Watson and Eli king will not be a cyclone next year ‍♂️

LOL exactly.

The account that started this thread initially made sarcastic comments on a thread about the Iowa vs Iowa State wrestling dual and also multiple pessimistic posts about our WBB team. Convenient that those are the two areas Iowa is having success in this season, be a little less obvious dude. LOL.

Honestly don’t know if I have ever seen a freshman better at the intangibles. Obviously needs to improve greatly at minimizing turnovers and outside shooting, but guessing still ahead of schedule of most our expectations preseason.

Tamin is 5th in the B12 in assists per game and 6th in assist to TO ratio...

As a freshman on a defensive minded team, he's preforming WELL above expectations.

You're not even a good Hok troll, go spend time talking about your own teams.

Lipsey is a true freshman, has been asked to do way more than any freshman should at the most important spot on the floor. And he has reminded us all of Monte a lot, and Monte was never asked to do HALF what Lipsey has had to do.

Who here thought we were ****** without a good point guard when Williams got hurt? Just about everyone. Lipsey has totally outperformed expectations.

The key for him, and really for this whole team, is: energy. They need EVERYONE available to do the 120% effort and absorb fouls on defense for 40 minutes to win. Imagine if Jwill was playing 25+ minutes, how much better Lipsey (and prob Holmes and Gabe too) would be with just 4-6 less mpg? Its no surprise Lipsey's worst minutes were at the very end of the game.

Oh, they do believe it. Had lunch with a few the other day, very complimentary of Billiew but thought Sandfort a better fit for their system and will be around for 4 or 5 years. Overall bigger and better impact. I think theres an argument there about the years thing.
