I'd have a hard time calling any game where the losing team had a lead 2/3 of the way through the game a 'beat down'.

Also, there have been a bunch more p5 tournament games with the same margin or greater even within our own tournament. A few much larger.
In the semis, I should've clarified

That goes even worse for you. There have only been 6 semifinal games from the power 6 conferences (extending it out to include the big east, otherwise it'd only be 4), because the ACC\SEC\B10 don't play their semis until tomorrow.

And in those 6 conference semifinals we have:

A 19 point loss by Oregon to UCLA
A 19 point loss by ASU to Arizona
A 22 point loss by Creighton to Xavier

Sorry, that was a beat down. We played hard but were outclassed all night.

"outclassed" is not a beat down. Yes, they were the better team. But we had the lead at one point in the second half and we were within single digits most of the game until the last few minutes. In no world is that a "beat down"

Sorry, I was there. Even when we tied it up, KU just stretched it back out easily. We looked lost on defense most of the game.

No worries, it was against maybe the overall #1 seed. But it was a beat down. 20+ turnovers, lol.

You seem to not understand the difference between simply not being the better team and a beatdown.

A beatdown would be the type of game we were never even competitive in. We took the lead 2/3 of the way through the game, that doesnt happen in beatdowns usually. Yes, KU was clearly the better team, and deserved to win, but that's not at all what most would call a beatdown.

KU was the better team tonight. They played really good D, made shots, forced us to make mistakes. We didn't play our best, but I got the feeling we were still in it at different points in the game. We never could get over the hump and get rolling, though.

Right up to about 5-6 minutes left in the game, we were still in it. There was a crucial call against Big Rob, and a made 3 by us was waved off. Was it a moving screen? They never showed it or talked about it.

Huge pivot point late, 3/4's thru the 2nd half. A no-call there would have put us down by only 7, or so, and given us momentum. Any body see that play?

That was not a beatdown. Come on.

These are the opinions of people not even here. Sadly, we did nothing right tonight and suffered a KU beatdown. They are very talented. We are not. But we can still achieve significant success in the tourney!! LFG!!

Oh ron, doing that whole 'going back through a post history dumbing every post' thing. What a baby.
Ron cracks me up. I typically wake up around 3 (“old man’s disease”) then go back to sleep. So one day last week I read a couple cyfan threads and saw Ron had dumbed lots of posts (not mine btw). So I randomly dumbed a couple of Ron’s posts for fun. Then I laughed because within a couple minutes I got the alerts that Ron had dumbed 4 of my posts. At around 3 in the morning mind you. I thought it was hilarious.

Guys played good again. KU was just better. Fran said the same thing. But that’s the kind of game you would be playing in the Elite 8 so pretty positive about ISUs chances for winning a couple in the tournament

Yes. A bit of a mystery.

Overall, no. But a 13 point beat down hurts a little. Would've liked to have kept it respectable. That was one of the most lopsided losses in the P6 tournaments so far
It was basically a 6-8 point game that stretched out slightly as we started to take some risks at the very end. Anyone watching would recognize it for that.

Yeah. this was one of those games where the final score was not a good indicator of how competitive of a game it actually was.

I rewatched the moving screen call on Jones and it was borderline, the type of contact that occurs on almost every screen. Gabe hits the 3. Too bad, oh well. Refs were mostly ok.

BRW, Tamin hit a 3 in the first half after a foul call. Nothing but net! Thought that might encourage him to take one later.
