That was one of the worst games I've ever seen, by any D1 team. Both teams played poorly but obviously Pitt played much better in a bad game. Did our guys just assume they'd win and just did some sleep walking into the arena or something?

Yep - kind of feeling like a lot of HS coaches that put athletes on the floor that can't play, gets excited about holding the other team to 44 while they lose 44-12.

Recruit basketball players. A coach should ask this. If a guy was 2" shorter would you be interested in recruiting him? If the answer is no, then move on.

I've had enough of coaches thinking they can construct a basketball team with guys that can't do basic basketball things.

This is so right. Getting the ball up the court against lazy presses has been difficult because most of the guards haven't been able to beat man pressure up the court, not to mention the wings or bigs being able to help. Basically everyone struggling from the free throw line, etc.

You can live with a guy or two who can't do those things, but it's both impressive how much success they've had with a roster-full AND it's concerning to me that those things haven't been a priority through two transfer portal seasons.

Blake Hinson has pretty much sucked today, but almost all of our guys have sucked worse, unfortunately.

I agree, he had little to do with their win. We did a lot more to lose today than anything Pitt did

Look, this game was the worst, no question about it. But we lost our starting point guard before the season and lost our starting shooting guard at the end of the year. Has any other ISU coach made the tourney in his first 2 seasons?...especially taking over a decimated program? Still proud of the last 2 seasons for this team and program. The depth and talent phase will begin next year. If you guys really think the offense will be this bad in the future with TJ's recruiting ability, you are wrong. Give it time to gel.

Probably either hit it against the rim, knocking it off kilter, or decided to take on Hinson in a back alley of Greensboro....neither were good options.

Yeah, TJ should have gotten top 5 recruiting teams both of his first 2 years here. I mean he had a 2 win season to build on. Just lazy.

Thats not what he meant at all. TJ would have run off Steph Curry though last year because he didn't play enough defense.

I suppose that is what we have to hang our hats on. TJ cobbled together 2 tournament teams from a program that was DOA.

Pitt sucks though. This should be a dub and that will sting for a while.

If we play just pretty good today, we win.

All the CBS announcers, studio guys love Pitt because they're ACC and Capel's a Dukie. But, I think he and his team both suck.
